3 points and a good display will satisfy me. Marquez is out , Cheering for Villareal will be strange after we just where cheering against them. But hopefully they will get some kind of result.
Thanks Unclesox... I guess Marquez does not have to worry about the second yellow because he is not called to the squad anyway!! La lista de convocados está formada por: [Source: SPORT] Valdés, Pinto Zambrotta, Oleguer, Puyol, Thuram, Milito, Abidal, Sylvinho Xavi, Gudjohnsen, Iniesta, Edmilson, Deco Henry, Giovani, Messi y Bojan Abidal back in the squad... Click on images to enlarge My starting lineup would be: Valdés Zambrotta, Puyol, Milito, Abidal Iniesta Xavi Guddy Messi Bojan Henry As for second half substitutions: Edmilson IN Guddy OUT [Move Iniesta back to attacking midfield, behind Henry] Giovani IN Bojan OUT [Giovani is more affective as a sub!!] Sylvinho IN Abidal OUT [ Abidal is not ready to have a full game yet] or the other way around by starting Sylvinho and giving Abidal some minutes in the 2nd half...
On paper, this should not be a hard match. The forwards are having a bit of a hard time finishing, but Athletic are no Villarreal. It is significant that FR is also leaning on them to think more about results than style right now. I'm really sad about Rafa's injury. He had finally gotten back into great form, both as CB & DM. I hope he's back quickly (also for selfish reasons as I was counting on him & Gio being at the US-Mex match I"m going to on Feb. 6th).
Not yet! According to SPORT he is likely to receive the medical clearance by the time to we play against Osasuna which is next week, however some say that FR is worried that some sections of the crowed might whistle him if he plays that game [it is in the Camp Nou] therefore, he would play him against Sevilla in the away game on the 10th of February!
The whistling will make a man out of him . Plus it gives him the opportunity to start redeeming himself in front of a home crowd.
I agree, I think that it is easier for him to redeem himself against Osasuna at the Camp Nou than Sevilla away ! As long as he redeems himself soon I don't care where he does it [as long as it is in Barça ]. Plus, I don't think that the Camp Nou crowd is that cruel, they will back Ronaldinho up until he comes back!!! Visca el Barça!
Lineup From RAC1: Valdes Zambrotta -- Thuram -- Puyol -- Sylvinho Iniesta Xavi -- Deco Messi -- Henry -- Bojan
San Mames is never an easy play to play, but an early goal should take Athletic out of it. The midget brigade will hopefully have a field day today.
Does anyone have a TVants stream that has English Commentary and that OBVIOUSLY works? because i am only finding Asian commentary ones?
Re: Lineup Great lineup up front, but on the road and against a physical Athletic team I would've liked a more physical player in midfield, either Edmilson or Guddy. Also, we better not give up to many corner kicks today...
Anyone with Dish Network in the US, the match is also on WorldSport in HD, complete with entertaining commentary from Sid Lowe.
So far Athletico, Espanyol and Valencia have all lost today. Nice opportunity here to add to our lead over those teams and hopefully make up some ground on RM. How are we doing?
