Is it a dragon, or a hippo, or a butterfly?

When I worked for MLS, we always kept an eye on the people who were hired to be mascots, they were not people who did very well socially...

Also, I'm a die hard Jubilo fan, and I think Jubilo kun should be made into Yakitori...

    Granpus kun though, he's amazing.

I would normally not speak ill of Ehime FC as they are my J2 team... but DAMN don't they have a few too many mascots?!

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VTuAkkj2CE"]FOUR Ehime mascots... at an away match!!![/ame]

I have no problem with just Ore-kun and Tamahime-chan. But Iyo Kanta, despite bearing the Edo Period name for Ehime, is just freaky looking. (If you burned him, he'd have the same expression on his face!) And just where the heck did that frog Ippei-kun come from?!

Not J. League, but it's in Japan. I want to burn the Sagawa Shiga mascot. Go ahead, google it. WTF is that thing? Some sort of demon fish.

I see there is no mascot at Gainare's official website. Kitaro was there before? Was it an official mascot?

Kitaro was as far as I knows official since the creator of Kitaro came from Tottori. But I am sure Matsu can say more about that.

I am guessing that a Mangafigure is against the J-League trading rules and thats probably why Kitaro is no longer the mascot.

I have to say that Doronpa is probably my favorite mascot.

    There's something intriguing about him.

    Must be the dance moves.

Re: Burn a J. League Mascot

As I said in a post earlier in this thread, Ehime is my J2 team both because I lived in Shikoku (Kochi) for a while and because Matsuyama - one of my favorite places in Japan - is the sister city of my hometown, Sacramento, California. But for the love of God, people, do you really need FOUR mascots?!

Iyo Kanta (left) and the frog Ippei-kun are Ehime FC's third and fourth mascots. First there was the mikan mascot Ore-kun, and later came Tamahime-chan. I think two is plenty, but maybe a friend or family member of someone at the club needed a job???

True, the official EFC website only shows three official mascots...

    http://www.ehimefc.com/p/index2.html

... but Ippei-kun has shown up quite a bit at Ehime matches, like the FC Tokyo away match I posted a vid for earlier in this thread.

Re: Burn a J. League Mascot

There is a tradition in J-League that several mascots from the community often guests the games.

Btw. doesnt several J1 clubs have 3-4 mascots already? Like the Grampus family and Antlers family, besides Marinoskun has several reincarnations too.
