    Technical advisor.......

    and coach-in-waiting?

Wonder how Sigi will welcome this "technical advice."

Hmmmmm... Sounds like he is being preped to become say the next Los Angeles Galaxy Head Coach.... after the Gal's start off 1-7 and Sigi Fats tries to trade Cobi Jones & Carlos Ruiz for his favorite son Simon Elliott. After he is told he cant he will go into a sugar coma trying to eat every hagen das bar in the HDC. Thusly, Klinsman is ready to step in.

    YAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With everything else Jurgen has going on, my money is on him not being at all interested in the coaching gig should it become available.

Please note that if a Galaxy fan posted something similar on the DC forum, your mods would pounce like Marion Barry on a mound of coke.

Your comments, however droll, are welcome here.

He has been training with the Galaxy for a few years, probably doing the same things mentioned in that press release, so perhaps this role has become an official position.

As mentioned in LARS board, if he's a liason between the coach & players, does this mean the players have been falling out with Sigi? Has he lost control of the team?

I hope he isn't being "groomed" to take over the head coaching job. I think he's alot more valuable to us just doing what he's been doing unofficially all along: some advising, some coaching, some PR. I'd love it if he could play a larger role in developing our current and newly acquired talent... Maybe help some of them finally realize their full potential.

This is the best news I've had all week. We'll take Klinsmann's help in any shape or form.

Well said. I can see it now, Him stepping all over sigi. Advising him, basically telling him, what to do. Hopefully he will Criticize sigi and show him how to lead a team.

    Klinsmann: "Don't eat so much."

    Sigi: "Here's your check."

    Klinsmann: "Thanks, see ya."

The title means he has a job now, instead of just giving his opinion. LA is lucky to have Klinsmann. Expect more Europeans wanting to come to LA - who wouldn't?

Jurgen Klinsman has been hired by the Galaxy as a "consultant". He supposedly is the architect of the controversial Herzog acquisition.

Obvioulsy he was a great player, but is Klinsman going to help the Galaxy this year or is he merely the next coach in waiting and a potential cancer in the organization?

Anybody remember how Klinsmann is getting his coaching liscense? Remember how he needs to have actual coaching time and needs to be evaluated? Technical Director sound very much like a psudo coaching position.

And it would be nice if somebody of his stature would become a coach/manager in MLS.

klinsmann's appointment says two things to me, everyones already mentioned if sigi has a poor season then jurgey will be there to take up the reigns. i also think that if sigi doesn't win the cup this year, no matter how good the season is, he'll be gone.
