QF1: Real Madrid v Manchester United QF2: Internazionale v Valencia QF3: AFC Ajax v AC Milan QF4: Juventus v Barcelona SF1: QF1 v QF4 SF2: QF3 v QF2 Final: SF1 v SF2 United will be the home side at Old Trafford if they progress to the final. Glory glory Man United!!!
their reward, if they beat Real, will be a match up with Juve or Barca. Just like in the summer tour. Now, this is what CL football is all about.
Although Barca has looked untouchable, I think Real Madrid is the obvious team to beat. And I think Man U is better off in a two game series with them than a one off, even if it's at home. And RM hasn't looked great this round so playing them now may be getting them at a weaker moment. Plus if they take out RM now, they just scare the rest of the other teams into submission (except Ajax who are too young to know better)
See? What did I tell you? It's United-Real at the quarters. This would have been a great final match-up, but with where the quarter-finalists play and how they finished in the group stage, United-Real was the inevitable match-up. Can't wait for the 1st leg in Madrid.
Oh wow. That should be incredible. The two big powers of European football squaring off. Well, Man U has looked so dominating in CL this year, its hard to bet against them. I think they can do it, and then its just a matter of getting past Juve or Barca to get into the final. Should be a great couple of months.
don't expect espn2 to show either leg of the real madrid-man utd qf match ESPN2 will carry wed april 9th juve-barca 2:45 pm et tue apr 22th barca-juve 2:45 pm et the semi-final schedule is like this: tue may 6th sf 1 2:45 pm et tue may 13th sf 2 2:45 pm et
ESPN And it's absolutely ridiculous that ESPN will not show either leg of this game. ESPN (in the US) will show one game on Wed, April 9th and another on Tue, April 22. United doesn't play on either of these dates which means we're out of luck. Why in the world did ESPN schedule a Wednesday game and then a Tuesday game? I've noticed this problem before. Doesn't it make much more sense to show two consecutive Tuesday games or two consecutive Wednesday games, in order to cover all possible matchups? As in the current system, if one of the two matchups they can show is not so interesting, they can either 1) show it anyway for one of the legs, or 2) show both legs between the same two (more interesting) teams, while ignoring the fact that there still 6 other teams in the competition. Well, ESPN might argue that for my proposal, if both matchups on one of the days are less interesting that either game for the other day, then they might be forced to show an uninteresting game this day. But I would rebut, saying that even if both games on one of the days are not as interesting, you can still pick the one that is *more* interesting in comparison, not to mention that you're guaranteed to be able to show the *most* interesting matchup among the 4 (i.e. in this case, United-Real), whereas in the current system, you're not guaranteed to be able to do that and in fact, they don't have the option this time around. Danmit, why don't they just show all the games?!
Manchester was the favorite matchup for all Madridistas. Not only a big team which plays attack soccer, but the only non-Spanish team we could have faced... Hope this will be a great couple of games.
Sir Alex: The Champions League draw was fixed Just as I suspected. But seriously now, did anyone really think the draws didn't take into consideration avoiding domestic rivals? These are the final group standings: Group A 1. Barcelona 2. Inter Group B 1. Valencia 2. Ajax Group C 1. AC Milan 2. Real Madrid Group D 1. Man Utd 2. Juventus There was no way UEFA were going to draw Real Madrid against Barcelona or Valencia. And AC Milan & Real can't face off. So naturally it had to be Real-United. Just like I always said it would be. Following that logic, UEFA wouldn't draw AC Milan against Juventus & Inter. So naturally, Milan drew Ajax. Everything else fell into place afterwards.
FSW Maybe? Do you think that they might show this game on Fox Sports World if they aren't showing it on ESPN. I think that this will be the most exciting match in the CL so far so how could they now show it on TV?
I was just looking through the Europe board and this is the link for the TV schedule on ESPN. It says that they are going to show the Man U- Real game:https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42698
Confirmation baby. The Madrid domination will on display for all to see according to both the ESPN web site and SoccerTV.com. HALA Madrid!!
this is what it's all about. not knocking the league but CL football is the dogs bollox. I'm hoping for us to get a goal or two tomorrow and then to finish off the job back in OT. who's watching it live and where?
