No, you're being an ass to people that just lost the team they support, that's what you're doing. That's where you're being condescending. And the fact that you're bringing all this back up shows that you're a know it all. That an elaboration for you? I didn't pay attention to your pissing match with the guys that run Flood Plain Footy, but you're coming off as an ass here.
Dave, why the sudden infatuation with the truth? You had no problems lying and misrepresenting yourself before.
If you guys packed the Soccer Park then maybe AC would still be here. I heard some games you didn't even have 2K there! Not even 2K!! Like Charlie Brennan said on KMOX, "I thought St.Louis is supposed to be a soccer town??"
now I remember why I don't post on here anymore. LOL @Dave- look buddy, we've talked about this before and I thought we patched things up. What we did was post what we were told but as such, that's what you do. Sure, one of our writers wrote opinion and went a little bit over the top, but hey we were new to this and people make mistakes. We were optimistic and hopeful for the team and carried it into our writings. We've grown since that. But to compare an official statement from a company to that of Dahmer? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Were you right? Sure, mostly. I'll give you that. good for you. anyway...
The collapse of the team has little to do with our attendance figures and more to do with not being able to find another investor. Most D2 teams lose between $1-$2million a year according to several sources. It appears you're just here to stir up trouble. That's why a lot of us quit coming to Big Soccer. It's a giant Bitch Session and I Told You So contest.
LMAO! As if there isn't that stuff on facebook! There's bickering and arguments constantly on facebook. You will find that anywhere but we should discuss soccer here!
Yeah, because it's really terrible to have a well-run franchise with a new stadium and fan support. Yep, I sure hate KC. >facepalm<
From what I recall the Wizards didn't draw very well at Herman field (SLU) when they came here the Summer of 2009. That was a test for MLS and I don't think Garber was very impressed. Not like it mattered with Cooper in our corner!
] 1. The Wiz didn't bother to advertise locally. 2. There was a pretty good crowd there (and, I might add, this was the afternoon of the 3-0 USA win in the Confed Cup). 3. It was easily eleventy billion degrees outside.
Because nothing says fan support like "Soccer City USA" not being able to fill a high school gym with fans. Yep, poor naive stupid KC.
I've gotta admit, I've made the jump over to Sporting KC. I'm in no man's land in central/southern Illinois. The Lions are too hard for me to follow, and I'm sure as crap not following a team from Chicago. *shudder* With KC, I'll be able to watch them on TV, and I'm even thinking of getting the Direct Kick package. It comes down to this, I'm tired of having my heart broken over and over hoping a team will come to St. Louis. If that happens, 15 years down the road, then I'll join up. But it's just not worth the headaches anymore.
hey I'm with you. Even with AC, they were in a seperate division so I could cheer on both. Except for the preseason friendly they had, of course I was for AC. I go to a KC game at least once a year and a lot of us St.Louligans are planning on going out this season. Though some won't cheer for KC, but that's fine.
The Wiz decided not to advertise their game at SLU because ownership felt that Cooper should have stepped up to the plate and promoted the hell out of the game. When he said he wasn't interested, Wiz ownership said they weren't either. The game a little more than 3k. It was the hottest weekend of the century and the most boring game I've ever seen. Not a good combination. When St. Louis gets an MISL team next season, you'll see an average attendance of 5k-7k at Scottrade Center, which will be fine. The team will be stable and will survive for a long time. It is what it is.
I'll believe that number when I see it. That's not a swipe at St. Louis that's a swipe at the state of indoor soccer in this country.
I agree. MISL had its heyday and its gone. It's not the same as it was with Slobo, Don Ebert, Tony Glavin, Carl Rose, Daryl Doran, and of course Preki! Preki has to be the best player that's ever played for ANY St.Louis soccer team! But I admit if the Steam Machine came back I would follow them and maybe go to a game. RIP Slobo
For one, not supporting the Lions and choosing to go even further to support The Sportin' Wizards is stupid. Two, no one gives a holy ******** about indoor soccer. Especially not 5,000 to 7,000 people. You're on crack.
