It's Friday night and...maybe it's the alcohol talkin' but I hope Ching pans out great, as does Mullan, as does Alvarez and I hope we just surprise the $hit out of everyone this year (like 2001.) Let 'em all write us off!

    Go Quakes!!

Arturo is the real deal, but I think it'll take a full season of MLS before he really gets rolling.

Donovan and DeRo up top. Ching as the first man off the bench. Alvarez and the left flank.

I'm expecting some good things from Ching and Alvarez. They'll get their chance.

And let's give them more than 2 games for them to prove themselves.

I predict a repeat of 2001. The Quakes are gonna surprise everyone, just like the Nats did in Korea. This game isn't played on paper. Go Quakes!!

No!No!No! Ching is not the answer unless the question was: Who won't score ten or more goals for the quakes this season?
The sky is falling, the sky is falling!;)

Dearest Beerking, my excitement was more for the prediction of the Quakes "surprising" everyone versus the acquisition of Ching....

and the sky is not falling....it is being worn away by all of the CFCs and greenhouse gases....:D

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: If you don't want Ching, we'll be happy to take him back here in Seattle.

I've only seen AA once (Shanghai), but he made a great impression. I hope he gets lots of playing time and earns the chance to start.

But what about Mullan? Do you think Ching is a better option than Mullan?

And... can or should Mullan play midfield?

Don't know if those gases are causing the sky to "fall" so much as slowly "sag"......but then, so's my waistline. (Hold the gas jokes, please.)

I completely forgot about Mullan. Hmm. Donovan and Mullan at top for the beginning of the season and Ching getting some PT there. Once DeRo gets fit, he'll make a strong case to start.

Now that Ching is officially ours, a word about his hometown. It's pronounced "hall-ay-EE-vah". Everybody say it with me..."hall-ay-EE-vah". Now, use it in a Casbah chant...maybe once he becomes an impact player we dress everyone in the Casbah in aloha shirts and leis and maybe get Club Quake to host the pre-game luau tailgate.

    Imua Ching!

"Nah brah...dat wen all make wit Lippy Espinda."

Closed-captioned for the pidgin impaired...it means that the phrase went passe with the death of Lippy Espinda in the mid-1970's.

Okay, how 'bout this for a chant...

"When Ching nets a header that they can't defend,
We'll have a Hall-ay-EE-vah time in the ol' North End!"
