Thanks folks - actually pretty hung over today - Didn't go to the Sox game - my brother flew in from Cali and my sisters drove into town and my other brother was around so it was the 1st night my family of 7 got together in a long time. If you want to see the next day don't do Vodka shots. Blur.
1. 31 years old 2. Long Island, New York. have lived here all my life. i really should move since it is so damn expensive to live here, especially considering #3... 3. I am a Manager at a movie theatre. have been for 6 years. kind of crappy pay but it is so easy and i dont really do much. i mostly hang around and talk and watch movies. but i definitely need a new job to start making more $$$. 4. besides soccer i also love hockey and sports in general. i completely love music. i listen to hardcore music. if you dont know its mostly an underground music scene that is kinda a cross between punk and metal, atleast that is how i would describe it to someone who doesnt know. the one band people would most likely know would be hatebreed. if not, forget knowing any others. i am older than most people involved in it. I have also been straightedge (no drugs, alcohol, smoking) and vegetarian for about 12 years. 5. i played from age 4 until about 15, but not at all since. i mostly played center back in a 343 for my travel team. i wasnt fancy but played a very tough, no nonsense style. i was the first person on my team to be yellow carded when we hit the age where we were carded. i also was definitely the most carded too, since i was big and strong for my age. not to mention my temper. my highlight was scoring from just inside the half line at around age 11. 6. i became a CFC fan for the 02/03 season after supporting wimbledon fc before that. so yes i am a newbie but atleast i got in a year before RA. i've also been an ajax fan since around 92. and the final random tidbit of info is the last world cup winner i picked correctly was west germany in 90. that was also the first WC that i watched. i've done nothing but get worse since.
I did pop some champagne for my girlfriend and Is anniversary last night, but past that I celebrated 4 big victories in a row by my teams without getting drunk: The Gators NCAA football and Basketball(2nd) titles, and this seasons Carling and FA Cup victories. It's different Ill tell ya that. It's not that I've quit really, or had a reason to, just spent a little too much time and money and girls can change you even if they dont want to. It's made getting back into shape easy as well, picking up playing footy fulltime, Ive been trying to get back into my cross country highschool running shape, lot harder even 6 years later. Ill definitely drink for another league title or CL victory(would have for the FA cup but had to work), another Superbowl win for the Pats, or a World Series coming to Boston again. Or if I get engaged.<----- keep that one under wraps for a longgg time.
No, sometimes not drinking is the right thing to do. Being in a position where you can't drink isn't awesome at all.
We talking prohibition or alcoholsim? I never had a problem with drinking, always had a great time, few too many hangovers, and the usual, just seemed an easy thing to give up living with a girl who doesnt drink much. Stillnot opposed to drinking, just never pops into my mind like it used to, "hey this is a great time to drink" type of thing. The only thing i really ever miss, is whiskey, yummy.
