That's keeping LA from the bottom of the standings....it's Kevin Hartman. This guy has stood on his head in every game this season. Tim Howard gets all the publicity, but Hartman is the best keeper in MLS right now. If it wasn't for his ackward footwork, then Kevin would mentioned in the same sentences as Keller and Friedel.

Look at the defense and midfield he plays in front of. LA is in serious trouble if he doesn't make several miracle saves every game....

And to think he was the guy rumored to be traded when Matt Reis was the starter.

You've got a fantastic grasp of the obvious.

It wasn't obvious to Sigi for two seasons.

Yep. It's like Kevin was punished for MLS Cup '99 blunders. He's playing at a level right now that rivals any keeper that's played in the league, including Brad Friedel when he was at Columbus.

If he gets hurt, Ruiz won't be able to score enough goals to keep LA in the playoff zone....

Matts a poor keeper? You've even agreed previously that Kev's a better shot stopper and Matt was always the better distributer. Two different types of keeper.

We are only a month into the season. Far too early to push the panic button. Hell, if the season were over the the first month, SJ would have won the Cup again last season.....we all know what a great choke job they did last year.

i had said this in preseason, and it looks as though it came true, Hartman would keep the Galaxy in the running again. If Hartman gets injured, you guys are screwed.

Hartman is MLS's all-time greatest keeper and will continue to remain at the top as long as he's healthy. The only reason i dont say Timmy Howard, is he hasnt been in the league long enough.

But how does a keeper distribute a ball he failed to stop?

How does a keeper stop shots when they are distributing it to the other team?

    Neither are perfect.

Look, it pains me to say this, but Matt Reis just plain sucked.

I feel much more confident with KH in the net, the kid's got sticky fingers, whereas Reis had butter fingers.

Hartman is better in the air, has a wider save range, and is flat out more reliable.

Distribution vs Ability to Save? I'll take the saves any day.

Once again Kevin shows why he's the best on the Galaxy. Man, he had to have been pissed. How many times did he have to stop a shot from someone within 10 yards of the goal?

Twellman got to camp out in the 6 yard box all game. Without Hartman, LA would see the score run up on them every week....

It's not fair to ask if Ruiz or Hartman is keeping the Galaxy afloat. Ruiz isn't even getting a chance to work in the offensive third. He's all alone on top waiting for the Galaxy to show some sort of possesion.
