Why do European Nations get boards for their club teams, their national teams, etc, and us (Mexico's board) we only get one for clubs and NT, and one for NRS.
i dont think is fair. [IMG]

We did have them a few months back but we decided that it was excessive. At this point we do have more people posting in the forum than in the past but for moment I believe we should stick to this format.

Old man bopper has a story. The Great Boycott of 2002

    Gather round the campfire newbies.

[old guy voice] ...Things got out of control with the USA victory over Mexico at South Korea/Japan. Racial slurs were toss around by every one who had a keyboard near them. Okay maybe not everyone but a lot of people on these boards including Moderators. A few of the Mexican posters vowed never to return to these board because the MODs were in on the slur tossing. And for a while no one did return we all went to the a new board were we have equal standing with all the othe posters. It took HUSS who I believe owns these boards to apologize to us Mexican bigsoccer member to end the boycott. To resolve this issue they made Various Styles and Sidspaceman MODs who might I add do a good job of controling those type of situations. Yup those were some rough times....

Unfortunately, these slurs are still brought out from time to time. Espescially when discussing things like Chivas USA. People use topics like these as an excuse to vent their anger at Mexicans in general. It's like Dave Chapelle said, the only thing white people hate more than black people are Mexican people. The worst problem is that racial slurs toward Mexicans doesn't even get you a yellow card these days.

Having more Mexican MODs is definately a good thing though.

Que desmadre. Is it hatred or ignorance though....

Anyways, I would hate to see what would happen if Israel ever beats Germany in a WC game.

Like Bopper, said we used to have team boards but hardley anybody used them. What was requested was the NSR forum and Huss gave it to us.

    coninued slurs

I've been appalled at some of the rubbish that is posted on the San Jose Earthquakes board. I understand that people are upset about the possibility of losing their team, but that is no excuse. ..

Any mention of even the possibility of Mexican ownership of the San Jose fanchise is greeted (by some) as an opportunity to make make racial slurs.

And then these clowns have the gall to lament that the Quakes are not drawing latinos...

Well it was a lot worse a few years ago. Things have changed for the better and a lot of the credit has to go to Huss and the Super Mods.

If you don't like the post report it then the mods have to take notice.

    Nice :)

Yes I remember a lot were from the midwest and Texas.

I seem to remember a young chap by the name of Toot trying to maintain the boards with his all his little might even going as far as forcing some of you guys to come back kicking and screaming (hijacking). What ever happened to him?

Also I remember a fellow by the name of WeyVergudo making a quick appearance on the boards around that time. I petition to change my user name to that one instead.

He mentioned it during an interview. He was talking about a talk show he had done (Donahue?) where the topic of the show was something like "why white people dislike blacks" or something along those lines. He said that he didn't know that was the topic and he freaked out when he found out that he was the only black guy on the panel. Luckily for him though, there was a Mexican guy sitting next to him who acted as "a lightning rod for all the hate", because the only thing white people hate more than black people are Mexican people.
