It's like Pirlo said... The course of the season is decided today. Gazzetta has the following line-up: Dida Simic..Nesta..Maldini..Costacurta Gattuso..Pirlo..Rui Costa..Seedorf Inzaghi..Shevchenko Apparently they will be lining up in a traditional 4-4-2 as opposed to a 4-3-1-2. Del Piero looks to return for Juve, but Trezeguet is out.
FORZA MILAN! If someone wants to change the title to Milan v. Juve {R} or something along those lines, feel free. If Milan needs to play like this to win at this point, then so be it. Juve probably had the better of the overall chances, but superb determination by Sheva and Pippo made the difference. Juve had a nice set piece play for their goal, and only inspired play from Dida prevented the draw. The last half hour of the match seemed like there was a foul or two every minute. It was an intense, fast paced game. Special mention must go out to Seedorf. While Rivaldo gathered all the headlines, Seedorf has done a great job this season, and might have been the best pick up during this past off season. Well, it is still a rough path, but at least Milan are back in the race. Here's hoping the play the rest of the season with the same intensity they showed tonight.
Dida was fantastic tonight. As for Rivaldo, he has to learn to stay on his feet. Thank God he was not playing tonight. A great game. Hope they keep on playing like this, the last month has been very stressful.
Great game from Milan today. The best they have played in 2 months. Sheva was the MOM with his great dribbling causing problems for the Juve defense. Except for the Nedved goal Dida played well too. And finally Sheva and Pippo score in the same game. I think it is the first time it has happened. This win hopefully will rejuvenate this squad for their Champions League push. I still don't think they will catch Juve but it is not impossible. Here are the match highlights: High Speed Low Speed
Raw determination. Nuff said. Alright, I'll say more. The referee was pretty awful both ways, but overall the match was very entertaining. I'm glad Milan finally got tough, they were winning a lot of 50/50 balls all day. Special mention must go to Shevhenko and Inzaghi, as they played together in the way they must always do so. Inzaghi streched the defence by playing on the edge while Shevchenko came deep into the midfield to get the ball, then attacked them with his dribbling. Rui Costa and Pirlo found the strikers very well and the goals are the proof. Very happy, forza Milan.
Udinese doing some favors as well...their victory over Inter tonight means that Milan are only 2 back of Inter and 5 back of Juve. A tough two weeks ahead with an away match at Parma and the derby, but it can be done. Here's to more from Sheva and Pippo up top! Forza Milan!
