I would have thought my post made it clear that I like Eboue's character, and that I would prefer him as a player over Kaka. This is diss? Perhaps I expressed myself poorly.

What about Hazard? :) Eden Hazard, Jags and Zarate ( even though i am not too familiar with him) would make my day!

Zarate is capable of moments of brilliance (especially on free kicks), but I'd worry that the inconsistency & attitude would be more detrimental than helpful. Especially if Lazio is looking for 20mil.

Zarate looks more like an Arshavin than a Fabregas.

Holy crap, we're hiring Jags?! He's been fired from the last two teams he coached...

totally agree with this. not only that, if they are good, as long as we aren't talking about city's level of swamping the first team, they should rise regardless as part of their natural progression. and, for the one who are good/going to be good, the challenge is a good thing for them (as opposed to just being handed the job).

One thing that has me lost.... Are we signing a Birmingham reject? Is that what Arsenal got down to?

I think Birmingham would have loved to extend Zarate's loan deal when they were relegated to the Championship but something tells me he had greater ambitions.

Was Scott Dann trying to avoid being cup tied by not playing tonight? Also, Jamie Dalton is reporting that Zarate is likely to sign for Spurs. 20m for Zarate seems like way too many for us to spend on him. Evidently a couple weeks ago he was meeting with Spurs so?

As much as I'm happy that we are reportedly close to signing a couple players it really worries me that one of them isn't a midfielder like Hazard or Marvin Martin.

OK - so can we all agree that the Nasri deal is being held up because of the player included with the cash, right?

So - who does Man City have that they would like to get rid of?
Here's my list - Bellamy, SWP, Santa Cruz, Bridge, Weiss, Zabaleta (maybe), Onuaha.

Can't see them willing to give up Milner, Boyata, or Johnson. (might be mistaken, though)

Really, Zabaleta or Onuaha are the only desirables here. Why is this taking so damned long? I need closure.

I wouldn't want Zabaleta to be honest. Onuaha would be a good player for us and I really rate Weiss. I think the guy has great ability.
Preferably I'd really like Milner or Johnson. I really don't see how one of them would want to say when they hardly get playing time. Oh wait, money.

He played well, but they were relegated, which killed any permanent deal.

How could anyone call Dann a reject? He was excellent for Brum and when he was injured there was no way they weren't going to be relegated. He's only 8m, young and has potential. He'd be a very good buy. My first choice? No, but I wouldn't complain.
