The Borough Boys are not going anywhere. The lack of activity on these boards are nothing to be worried about. 1) It has been a very busy summer and lots of work has been put in. We are taking a breather and slowing down the pace so we can gather out thoughts. 2) The Board members have met and continue to meet. We also have had a meeting with many members and hope to have another one shortly! 3) We are working on the schedule for next season and once the schedules are final we will publish them. We are also watching the US game on November 19th at Jack Demsey’s. If you have any questions please PM me or any of the main guys – we also are looking for new people to join our discussion – PM us and we will get you involved!
I second that emotion. Some of us have been a little sidetracked by the election, etc. But we have been meeting and we continue to work. We are going to get our team, and it's not off in the distant future. We will keep digging for some new news and report back when we can. Arriba MLS2NYC!
Lack of activity cause news on this front is zero.... I expected that activity here would slow down alot... Next season BB should try to make as many events INVOLVING THE US NATS as possible..seeing how they will be in the final 6... BB should try to make as many of the east coast venues games and especially the game vs MEXICO no matter where this game is played...most likely columbus.... these should be the major outtings for the BB its WCQ enough said...these games is the oportunity to meet nyc cats with posible MLS interest not USL division 8 games... as far as new people I told you nick its hard to get new people when you are selling an empty box..... people will come and flock to the cause BB and the supporters when a official announcement is made.....until then its hard to rally any one when there is no team now and when it looks like its at least 5 years away..work with what you got now the core guys and use the US national team games that BB will travel to to get new people... you have the guys you saw them win a championship in flushing meadows... those argies and uruguayans will be there for a NY side down the road if there is one...they will show up when tickets are on sale.. and so will many other people you have never seen b-4....thats the way it is..... 2009 WCQ BB should make at least most of the games in the east coast and BB should plan on going down to azteca... you want NYC people get them with the WCQ games and make contacts take name e mails and all that..for now BB supports the nats when NYC comes along if it does BB will be supporting NYC week in and week out...all of a sudden all the names you took for all these wcq games become contacts of people that will be supporting nyc.. as you meet new faces and get info and e mails you add them to your mailing list...
Agreed and we are going to make as many US games as we can and we watch all of them together so it gives other people a chance to come out - everyone we met with the US group we have their email and they actually have started coming out to other events - what you say here is true! Our schedule next season will be US games (Bus trips) and other local games - but yea the Nats are a focus but not for MLS2NYC - but because we love them lol - we are country over club!
Don't forget the 2009 Gold Cup as that will most likely be in the US, and will have a game or two on the east coast... If not rumours are that it will be in Canada, Road trip to Toronto for the final anyone?
Wile- when the tix go on sale, there will be more people interested than there will be seats, on that I have no doubt. But we are a supporters club, people are either with us or not. That's everyone's prerogative and choice. I appreciate your input, though it is all rather obvious. Nick, we're not all "country over club". I am more of a club and country type. I love the usmnt, but when we get this team, it'll likely be my top priority. That's how I was with the metros back when.
Ahhh, yes of course. I just want to reserve the right to cheer when our center back tackles landon donovan hard, really, really hard!
me i'm club 1st..but thats just me... "Metrogo: "we are a supporters club, people are either with us or not" no doubt.... but as far as numbers more will join when a team comes along thats what i ment to say.. 2009 events WCQ A MUST EVENT we should go to as many as we can here in the east coast.. Gold Cup a must for the nats if they play in DC NJ or NE azteca trip to mexico WCQ.... a must...
That's fine, Wile, but I remember as an old Metrostars fan when a bunch of johnny come latelys, mostly Latinos, joined ESC and tried to dictate how they should do things, and when they weren't sufficiently accommodated, we were treated to a spectacle of a supporters club on one side adding some real atmosphere in the stadium and on the other side, about 15 numbskulls jumping around like toddlers at a jungle gym, diminishing the good efforts of the ESC. If that's the plan, no thanks. Don't do me any favors. People can work with us now and have their say. Whoever waits for opening day will just have to go along with the program.
i usually travel to just about every WCQ, home or away. anyone that wants to go just let me know and we can work out some details....
