ManU v. FC Barcelona; when I logged onto the ticketmaster website and plugged in a request for a ticket at any price, followed by the other three or so price levels, there were none available. Paul
It's the first-ever event of any kind in the new Philadelphia Eagles stadium, Lincoln Financial Field on 8/3. Neat to the max - a football game opening a football stadium Paul
Not sold out yet You can still get tickets at the Lincoln Financial Field Box Office. Plus VIP seating!
Re: Not sold out yet I went to the Ticketmaster site less than an hour ago. Maybe there aren't any tickets available online, perhaps... Paul
Re: Not sold out yet Half true...the site says, depending on how many club seat members turn their tickets back in, there may be tickets available. I got my 6. I'm set. I know it's Man Utd and Barca, and I know that it is the first ever event in the new stadium...but selling out in about three hours is still pretty sweet, and a good show for Philadelphia. www.philadelphiaatoms.com
The official word... SoccerMavn was right: http://www.lincolnfinancialfield.com/rn-030315.asp Those of you who got tickets in your hands (unlike those who ordered through the Charge and will get them soon enough), check out the seat layout at http://www.lincolnfinancialfield.com/sf-map.asp and find out where you'll be Paul
I'm supposed to be getting my tickets from the Charge. My credit card has NOT been debitted yet, but who knows when this will happen. Any news from the Charge front office here??
And the minute we give care about your opinion, we'll be happy to let you know. If you're not happy the tour doesn't include MLS teams or whatever your issue is, that's fine. Don't buy a ticket or watch it on television. Having the mentality that something is wrong with those of us that want to see the match is ignorant.
Giving ChampionsWorld my money galls me, but the alternative was what...not going? The place sold out in 3 hours; obviously, my not going would have made a real impact. Besides, a good turnout is good for Philly's MLS chances. Even with the other contributing factors I stated in an earlier post.
My view is any time you have an opportunity to see some of the best players in thw world live, if you're a fan of the game, you pay the price. You can have all the snobbery in the world you want, but no one's forced to pay the price of any ticket.
Give #2FairFan a hand... She and I were right... http://www.lincolnfinancialfield.com/rn-030315.asp 8,000 seats were held back from public sale to accomodate Eagles season ticketholders who have first crack at these. Whatever's left by a week from today will be released to the public, which will be snapped up, no doubt in short order. Prices for the club seats, which include lounges (!!) are $85 and $125. Paul
To anyone who doesn't know it yet, it's Real Madrid-Manchester United Champions League quarterfinal series at 1430 ET on ESPN2. The two biggest clubs in the planet square off. The best soccer personalities face off. Zidane, Figo, Raul, Roberto Carlos, etc. face off against Beckham, Keane, van Nistelrooy, Giggs, etc. History has shown whoever wins this series win the title. 2nd leg next Wednesday. All economic activity in Europe comes to a halt to watch this match. (OK, OK, some will watch Ajax-Milan). This is must-see TV! Call in sick in the afternoon. Do not go to class. Hole yourself up in some bar, or if you're too young, watch at home. I'm sure Aris will agree! GO RED DEVILS!!!
Hey, it's a great game and all...but let's keep it real...They only faced each other in the knockout stages in 2000, when Real beat them and went on to win it all.
Every time United and Real clashed in the Champions League & its earlier versions, the winner claimed the title: 2000 QF: Real advance 3-2 on aggregate vs United. Go on to win it all. 1968 SF: United advance 4-3 on aggregate vs Real. Busby's boys go on to win it all. 1957 SF: Real advance 5-3 on aggregate vs United. Go on to win it all. Philly fans ought to hope that United beat 2-0 Real in the 2nd leg, & that Barca advance over Juventus. A Champions League semi-final clash of Barca-United - the very thing Philly fans will see this summer. Keep your fingers crossed.

Can you imagine it? The first game at Lincoln Field may also be the first game for Beckham as a Barca player. There would be tons of media people here.
