If Newcastle are going to go down to the level where they're looking at a player who was considered a bit of a flop for one of the worst Premiership teams last season they'll have plenty of options. Altidore isn't really on the Premeirship radar at the moment.

To be fair a club like Wigan or Stoke could always use somebody like Altidore, although I cannot say I'm expecting it.

To be honest, I thought he was too young, and too raw to be a Premiership striker anyway. I don't think the USSF/NYRB did a good job of working on his technical side as he was coming through the system, and let him get away with just using his athleticism far too much. That was what I was looking forward to the most, when he was signed by Villareal. I thought they'd be a club that would bring him along slowly, as they worked on his technical/tactical side. He has all the tools you want in a striker. Just needs to be refined.

It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for him to not get a loan here, and let him stay in Spain and work on his game in training.

He has some tools, I don't know about the "all" part. Since we are talking about Newcastle, I like Ranger, their 19-year old forward, more in his limited number of appearances that I saw. Of course, he (Ranger) may also amount to nothing in coming years.

If Altidore came back to England the Championship would be his probable destination right now. I don't think Stoke would have any use for him whatsoever at the moment, Wigan could maybe use him as they don't have loads of strikers at the moment.

I think this is precisely it, he is too raw for more than the odd appearance in the Prem or La Liga, which is why I think he'd be better off on loan somewhere like the Championship. At that level I think he'd actually be good and it'd allow him to get the playing time he needs to focus the raw abilties he has.

Does Spain allow loans to be completed post transfer window like some of the other leagues? If so how much longer can this drag out.

Are Bursapor streams easy to find? Will we be able to watch him at all?

Stoke??? They have Kenwyne Jones, Ricardo Fuller and John Carew, who have all accomplished far more in their careers than Jozy.

Edit: Turkey it is. That makes sense given what we've seen from Jozy the past few years.

Congrats on the move and hopefully Altidore can win a place in the lineup.

Could he possibly end up facing Villarreal in Europa League? That would be fun.

And even if he wasn't there'd probably be a clause in the loan contract preventing it.

And even if both of the first 2 issues were dealt with Bursaspor would have to actually be in the Europa League for this to be possible. :D
