    you disagree?
They were more dominant v Belgium, but this match was much more open.

I'd like to know what planet you're from?

    This was an open game?

did you see how high the strikers were pressing? just because there weren't a lot of goals...

No I was focused on how they only got 8 shots towards the goal (not on target) the entire game. Clearly the strikers were pressing high while enjoying a nice espresso and some croissants.

So many of you haven't got a clue about football.

Tactically brilliant from Conte. Bravo. Sweden did not expect that.

Our lads lacked that touch today. But Conte had them so well structured. We still need some more creativity in that final third.

    Bravo Conte.

Redemption for Eder today. Goals from Pelle, Giaccherini, and Eder. All 'your' favorites. Bravo.

All i have to say is Kudos to Conte for keeping Eder on as long as he did. I would have subbed him off for sure early in the second half. Conte really believes in his men.

Not our best performance but neat defending, we just need to work on less ball turnovers in the middle of the pitch.

So it looks like Spain or Croatia in the knockout. Then we can see what this team is made of.

Tooti fan tu sei pazzo. Prima tempo Conte didnt want us to play football, just sit back and let the Swedes have the ball, second half we picked it up a little bit. Yaking off Pelle for the bull in a china shop Zaza worked. Eder still did nothing other than scoring the goal and Giack did nothing other than the cross for Parolo. There is no need to start praising individual performances when there was none that stood out. This is Conte's football, it's boring and it is the collective that might see you through the game. there are too many mediocre players that are one game wonder running about but it is working and we are through to the next round. If we give up the ball to a better team than Sweden for 90 minutes we will be punished. 6 points and 2 clean sheets is great but the football is not enjoyable.

Conte is a genius. He makes Italy play like shit on purpose to confuse our opponents!

Eder could have scored anytime he wanted! He was just keeping it late for suspense!

    Wow!

The post game reaction from some of you nutjobs that wear rose colored glasses is more enjoyable than the game.

Just perish the thought that this team can play an exciting style. Without a playmaker in the midfield, exciting is not going to happen. Lower your expectations and you will enjoy the results more if we win.

so you can read stats. Here's one for you. Pelle's pass accuracy was 50%. 9 attacks that went through Pelle were turned over.

Match turned around in second half b/c Conte took my advice in second half and brought on Zaza.

Italy sat back and focused on closing down Belgiums channels in the first match. They showed much less respect for Sweden in this match.

Conte is on to some next level tactical brilliance that we plebs cannot comprehend.

Game lacks goals, putting on attacker is overrated. Inserts Sturaro in a tactical master stoke. Swedish players dumbfounded and let down their guard. Eder employs his trump card he's been keeping in his pocket the whole game

Lol at you clueless soccer fans

We win the first two games and qualify early. Many are saying we are the most convincing team in the tournament when two weeks ago most of us thought they would go out group stage. And most of you bananas are still bitching and moaning.

When was the last time we won the 1st 2 matches? 2000? Conte is doing a great job getting the best out of this team.

Conte was playing for the "tactical draw" (another brilliant strategy) but decided at the last minute that he felt like winning. Signalled to Eder to win the game

    BOOM

Lol at you clueless soccer fans who don't understand brilliance

I'm happy Italy won but to call this "tactical brilliance" and "what he planned all along"?

I'm happy for the win, but I'm not going to pretend this was a brilliant victory like some of you.
