pirlo as always is the highlight, he just played a perfect ball that basically sent grosso clear on goal and it was incorrectly called for offsides.

yeah, it's a sloppy match, not many chances either way so far. probably gonna be a snoozefest, but we'll see.

wow that was ********ing dirty. who was that dutch guy?

palombo just made a beautiful tackle, arriving at the ball first and the dutch guy went into the tackle, knowing he already lost the ball, with his studs out. could have easily broken his leg.

I've really liked what I've seen so far from Palladino and Candreva.

yeah, that was a pretty nasty tackle by de jong, but it looks like palombo is alright

elia seems to be giving zambrotta a tough time, but so far the defense has stood firm pretty easily so far, but that is a little worrying. They seem to be targeting zambrotta's flank as the choice to attack

Wish I could watch this live. It's got this special feeling of revenge due to that horrible Euro 2008 match.

pirlo, now is your time to score a free kick. its been at least 5 years since youve scored one.

Meanwhile that other Dutch guy who goes by the name of Van Persie is now on his way to hospital thanks to that tackle by that charming Italian guy while all eleven Italian guys are still on the pitch nice and healthy. I mean come on, let's not pretend like Italians are holier than thou here.

2 years versus georgia, but point taken...:D

wow, nice ball to candreva speaking of pirlo, but nothing comes of it. looks to be going to half time at 0-0

a couple of nice shots and runs by grosso, candreva and palladino, and a few decent balls from pirlo, but other than that, not a whole lot to write home about this first half.

    Gilardino looking completely clueless.

Holland unimpressive, but they're missing their 2 best offensive players.

yeah, at least holland has a pretty good excuse for looking anemic after sneijder and then van persie left, italy has no such excuse unfortunately.

Notice that when the ball is played on Cameranesi's side its a completely attack, while Italy are creating offensive chances with Palladino and even Candreva (who isn't playing too well). What happened to the Zambrotta who could run down the right flank and provide crosses, those days are long gone. And of course Pirlo looks as tired as ever.

Italy's excuse is Lippi's senility, not really an excuse huh? No Cassano, no playmakers upfront, no goals.

I'd bring in Pazzini for Gilardino, Gila has done nothing but lose out in this game. Palladino has looked dangerous, our best player on the day for sure. Not a bad first half, back and forth, we seemed to dominate the middle of the half. Looking forward to the 2nd half. Hopefully Palladino does not come out at halftime.
