I posted in the selection thread to correct Cuccureddu's birth place which is Alghero, Sardinia, Italy and not Alger, Morocco.
We are working at it. Not sure if we'll get it done today, though. I always have Tuesday in the back of my mind as our picking day, that's why we are not ready yet.
BRAVO Gregoriak! I would give you more reputation but I need to spread more around. Finally Luigi Allemandi is drafted. Despite being involved in a bribery scandal, Allemandi still managed to be a star for Inter and was a protagonist in the 1934 World Cup. Even during his Juve days he was a class act. One of the finest defenders of the inter-war era, if not the finest.
There's NO information out there on Allemandi in English. Just a couple stats, but for a nice write up, it's Italian.
For some players there really is no information in English. On some picks I had to translate articles.
well translate it then. theres guys here who write their profiles, im sure translating a profile takes alot less time then that. do the judges speak italian anyway?
Sardus definitely does as he lives in Sardegna. Randy also speaks it I believe. I'm unsure of the others.
Dante could not translate it as I was the one taking care of the Allemandi profile. I checked what was written in Italian by using an online translator but could not use that translation as we all know online translators are only really good to get a basic idea of what is said, but not printable in a forum. I would have had to polish the online translation up, but for that I had absolutely no time and since other drafters used Italian language profiles as well, I thought it'd be okay to do so in general if nothing in English is to be found.
Randy's italian is perfect. It means he did his scuola elementare very well. Definitely better than many other italians who never left Italy. Especially those coming from Napoli like him (sorry, Randy). Neapolitans and romans (and not only) are famous for their (widespread) incapacity to speak correct italian. Sardinians speak the most correct italian in Italy (not talking about pronunciation, we have a very peculiar accent), that is because sardinian is a distinct language from italian and the non sardinians hardly would understand anything of it. As for me, you should be worried for my english not surely my italian.
You guys managed to force all the other italians to learn some napulitano! And not only because of the likes of De Filippo, Totò or Troisi and the quality of their work...
