Women's professional football has failed in the United States and as of late in Israel. Does anyone really think that this is a problem? How much support is there for women's football worldwide? Also, if the men's league is not in great financial shape, who expects there to be a women's league?

In the world of basketball it seems to be the opposite. Ramat haSharon has one of the strongest women's basketball teams in Europe. Israeli women play NCAA basketball in the U.S. and even played in the WNBA. So why should football be any different? Any thoughts?

    Actually, I'm a bit curious.

What is the situation with women's pro soccer in Israel?

Did a league just fold? Was it a top league?

Why isn't the national team one of the world's best?

There was a leauge, it wasn't that big, there was some teams and players, but i still don't know why it folded....
I guess there wasn't a big intrest in it.

There is a womens NT in soccer. It did okay, i remember snooping around UEFA website and i saw that they had some great wins against Estonia Womens NT, just to name a few...

    but that was that...

Im not 100% sure about the status of women in the nt. perhaps there is more information from other posters!

The problem with women's sports is that its too slow. Its better to watch boys' high school games.

Even the WNBA-the womens basketball league in the US, has no interest among most American sports fans.

The league would have folded long ago but the NBA owns the league and injects money into every year to keep it from going bankrupt.

Although I agree that women's sports are slower, some are still fun to watch.

I can't stand women's basketball the difference is not just the speed. The players are unskilled and it looks very little like the men's game.

Women's tennis and volleyball can be better because the men's game is too fast.

Women's soccer is a lot like men's (other than the speed), so it can be entertaining to watch, even though I perfer the men's game.

I'm a bit surprised that the Israeli women's team doesn't do better. Gender equity is pretty strong in Israel, and soccer is the top sport overall. I thought the combination would produce a strong team.
