    20:45, Jerusalem Standard Time

Dror Kashtan has announced the squad for the upcoming friendly. I wonder if anyone on the Romanian side will recognize Klemi Saban...

    Goalkeepers:
    Dudu Aouate (Deportivo)
    Nir Davidovich (Maccabi Haifa)

    Defenders:
    Eyal Meshumar (Maccabi Haifa)
    Avi Strool (Maccabi Netanya)
    Klemi Saban (Maccabi Netanya)
    Dedi Ben-Dayan (Maccabi Netanya)
    Tal Ben-Haim (Chelsea F.C.)
    Tomer Ben-Yossef (Beitar Jerusalem)
    Shimon Gershon (Beitar Jerusalem)
    Yoav Ziv (Beitar Jerusalem)

    Midfielders:
    Tamir Cohen (Bolton Wanderers F.C.)
    Moshe Ohayon (Winterthur F.C.)
    Ravid Gazal (Maccabi Tel Aviv)
    Yossi Benayoun (Liverpool F.C.)
    Gal Alberman (Beitar Jerusalem)
    Aviram Bruchyan (Beitar Jerusalem)

    Strikers:
    Barak Itzhaki (KRC Genk)
    Elyaniv Barda (KRC Genk)
    Omer Golan (Lokeren)
    Amit Ben-Shushan (Beitar Jerusalem)

Obviously, Roberto Colautti is out with injury. Ben Sahar will be with the Under-21 side as they play Northern Ireland before this match. Idan Tal, Michael Zandberg and Yaniv Katan have not been called up. Only Zandberg, in my opinion, should have been called up. He has been more consistent then Aviram Bruchyan has so far this season.

I assume Maor Buzaglo is also playing for the Under-21 side? Anyways, should be an interesting match.

Not seeing much from the squad named. Glad katan isn't there. I hope Omer Golan gets more playing time, I'm tired of seeing this kid come in late in the game. Both grant and kashtan haven't played him enough.

Ziv is the best young player for us IMO.

This is great for our team before the wcq. The more this team plays together the better, and the better the team the better too. Romania is definently a good squad.

Romanian team for Israel match: Bogdan Lobont - Cosmin Contra, Dorin Goian, Gabriel Tamas, Radu Stefan - Razvan Cocis, Cristi Chivu, Paul Codrea, Banel Nicolita, Adrian Mutu, Ciprian Marica.

Can you tell me if former Steaua defender Klemi Saban will play?

BTW, was that a new kit that the Israelis were wearing; striped socks, and the shirt looked different as well.

The Swiss looked good, they're one of the best teams that was in that 3rd seed group. Much better than us even though we are/were ranked above them. Euro 08could work both ways...either they'll be fatigued after playing the summer or match ready and confident, especially if they do well and most host countries generally do. I fear it'll be the latter.

As far as that kit, the IFA needs to stop being so cheap and put the names on the back. Jeez, even my local recreational league can do that. And the socks are annoying. But all the ones i've seen sold have "Israel" in the back, if there are ones that are blank somewhere I'd by one.

I dont mind the kits. Its nice to see a change every campaign, kinda like starting fresh again. But, they do need to put the names on the back!

    I disagree so completely.
Names on the back of jerseys are disgusting to me. THe whole point of not putting their names on the back is to show that the individual players are not important, that it's the team as a whole that counts. I think the lack of names on the jerseys is one of the better things about them.
Ps, i also liked the socks:)

Fair enough, it just looks more legitimate and I'm fairly sure almost all the other national teams have them. They can keep it blank then, just get rid of the striped socks!
