Israel vs. Ireland 19:50 Jerusalem Standard Time (GMT +2:00) For those Irish who would like to come to Israel for the match, there are direct charter flights from Dublin to Tel-Aviv via Arkia Airlines. You can also find direct flights to Tel-Aviv via London and most other large European cities. Due to a strong Euro, the hotels are expecting around 5,000 Irish to arrive for the match and the Tel-Aviv municipality is scheduling a sort of Irish festival in Tel-Aviv to encourage more fans to show up. The best hotels to stay at in Tel-Aviv are the Daivd Intercontinental, and the Hilton Tel-Aviv. I think that usually the visiting nation stays at the David Intercontinental. Basketball clubs stay at the Hilton Tel-Aviv.
line-up annocement? and are who are we calling up-- too many politics on broadacst shows in Israel between Grant and some players....
1-0 for Israel... im hoping we will have one charge and pretty boy keane will act aggressive and give a penalty shot to Israel. Israel takes and scores belive in the best!
i do belive that is not too much to ask for. 1-nill FT Israel wins after playing d entire game. Ire too hopped up over friendly win to Portugal???
Grant invites Avraham Grant has invited some players to train before the national team's match against the Republic of Ireland. Nir Davidovich was not invited due to injury, and neither were the Israelis who ply their trade abroad. The squad: Goalkeepers Shavit Elimelech (Hapoel Tel-Aviv), Ohad Cohen (Maccabi Petah Tikva). Defenders: Abed Rabah (Bnei Sakhnin), Shimon Gershon (Hapoel Tel-Aviv), Alon Harazi (Maccabi Haifa), Klimi Saban (Hapoel Petah Tikva), Arik Benado (Maccabi Haifa), Adoram Keisi (Hapoel Petah Tikva). Midfielders: Avi Nimni (Beitar Jerusalem), Idan Tal (Maccabi Haifa), Walid Badir (Maccabi Haifa), Avi Stroul (Maccabi Tel-Aviv), David Revivo (Sport Club Ashdod), Abbas Suan (Bnei Sakhnin), Yossi Shivhon (Hapoel Petah Tikva). Forwards: Yaniv Katan (Maccabi Haifa), Yoav Ziv (Hapoel Upper Nazareth), Omer Golan (Hapoel Petah Tikva).
Goalkeepers Tom Almadon is not ready to play for the national team against a side like the Republic of Ireland. Tom gave up five goals against Hapoel Petah Tikva just about a week ago so I don't believe that he would be Grant's first choice. If Davidovich is not ready for the world cup qualifier, Grant will most likely start Dudu Awat who had an amazing game in goal for Real Racing de Santander recently as they actually beat Valencia.
Re: Goalkeepers Looking at the plays on Sport +5, night news....with santander, i just see him as a nightmare in net. Is Ben Haim fit? all i want is a 0-0 draw...thats all..just have like 5 players in the back
Republic of Ireland FA The FA for the Republic of Ireland has said that the match will be held at Ramat Gan Stadium and no changes should be made regardless of the recent attack on a Tel Aviv karaoke club Friday night.
Re: Republic of Ireland FA So is losing Davidovitch a big loss for Israel? Are you guys worried about his backup?
Re: Republic of Ireland FA Davidovitch, ever since 2002 have been very wary regarding his injury. He has missed about 1.5 years from the injury he has gotten vs. Spain in June 2001. Dudu Awatt is from Hapoel Haifa and was transfered to Maccabi Haifa when it happened and showed alot of reasons why he is good. I am still wary of dudu, but i think he is proving himself in Spain. I would prefer to have davidovitch, but it does not matter right now anyhow... What does need to be addressed is good defence and thats a key that we need to address. Hopefulyl Ben Haim will be 100% fit and ready..
hey guys, do you think berkovic is gonna play this game? http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/550167.html I don't. Why not? sure he has a big mouth and is an a$$hole, but I think he'd score more up front than Katan(who I love) if we play what Grant thinks he wants to play, which is a very defensive 5-4-1. God bless Benado...Alevai... "Maccabi Haifa defender Arik Benado said Israel could win the game and forecast a 1-0 or 2-1 result. "
Berkovic cannot start. He hasnt been fit and doesn't prove much of himself.. but Nimny is set to face Ireland which is good. he saved Israel in Cyprus...with an assist and a goal!
Tickets The entire west end of the stadium is already sold out leaving me without a match ticket ! Now I have to get my hands on an east end ticket and stand the entire match...
I hope McGeady comes down with the runs before our game... http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2093-1523485,00.html does anyone know how good/bad their clubs are in IRE compared with ours?
Clubs in Eire I am sure that their clubs' stars are fitter than ours. After the Windgate report that Israeli footballers are not fit compared to the level in Europe, makes me wonder how come they haven't done something about that since.
Tickets Yes! I just got my tickets today. I ordered two seats in the lower deck in gate 4. So far I have no one to come with me so anyone on the boards who would like to join me should send me a private message.
McGeady wont play weather he's fit or not I'd say, Andy Reid of Spurs will probably play on the right ahead of him. McGeady has only played for Ireland around 3/4 times. And I don't know enough about Israel club football to say what our league is like compared to yours but I'd be very suprised if a player who plays for an Irish club plays against Israel.
We will field XI players from the English Premiership. I'd probably rate the Israeli League a bit ahead of Ireland's, but for this match its irrelevant.
Shocking!! What would u say, in the long run can improve Irelands Domestic Leauges? Would u consider them "Amature" like in the Welsh leauge?
They're better than the Welsh league, just look at Shels and Cork in Europe this year. The league is improving every year so it just has to keep going along the way it's going.
