Israel's youth are really impressing pulling off their second win this time against the Greeks. It looks like they will qualify for the championships. Just like other years past though most of these kids will leave the national team for service in the IDF.

This just shows how much talent there is in Israel. They will most likely make their way to Italia. I think that the IDF really messes up the chances for Israeli players to play in Europe.

    Final Result

    Israel 1-1 Romania
    Fulltime

Maccabi Haifa's Buzaglo converted a 88th minute penalty kick giving Israel the one point needed in order to progress to the U-17 European Championship in Italy. Perhaps if Israel do well we will see the competition hosted once again by the holiest national team in the world.

Yeah, I think that was the year. I remember it because they played at really crappy venues. They even played in Lod if memory serves me right. The final was at Bloomfield I believe.

    Israel U-17 Draw

Israel were drawn into Group B against Switzerland, Croatia, and the Netherlands. I think that the draw is okay and I am glad we don't have to play the hosts or the English which were both drawn into Group A along with Belarus, and Turkey.

If Israel finishes within the top two of the group, they will move onto the semifinals. Only the finalists and the third placed club will go to the World U-17 Championship in Peru. I think Israel has a good shot at it.
