Found this article, it looks intresting. Might we have the next Chope developing in NY? The positive thing is that he is developing with coaches that know how to develop young prospects, not in CR where our youth leagues are a joke. And to my knowledge this is the first tico to appear on Sports Illustrated. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/highschool/11/08/hines.soccer/index.html
I hope he does well if he in fact goes to Europe. But let's wait and see. Hopefully he won't turn out to be another disappointment like Froylan.
The guy looks like a beast. He looks like an animal yet he is little. Like me. lol. jk. I hope this guy the best, repping CR and CA.
I read that he's good (nothing extraordinary yet), but his situation right now may include some migratory issues and thus that may be why a.) he can't be bumped to the RBNY prof. teams and or b.) he can't play in a bigtime college (he may have to look into the Junior College alternative). Merry xmas to all you guys, btw!
that kid has never been that much of a secret, wasnt he at Charlton?? but i knew the kid was good, but nothing very special.
WOW! I Can see it now...Walter Hines, Bryan Ruiz, and Froylan Ledezma kicking ass in 2010! Hopefully he keeps growing as a player and gets a shot in Europe like a lot of American youth players. Oh yeah and of course decides to play for us
My answer: If he goes pro next year, likely may be a star. If he goes onto college ball, prob not, or only, perhaps will be a star. Remember, High School soccer in the US is below most youth pro team levels.
I think he's with New York Red Bulls U-18 team, so im guessing he can be called up by the first team if he's any good. Hopefully he's an important talent because the only difference maker we have right now is Bryan Ruiz, and even though it hurts me to say this but our soccer is slowly going down the drain.
