Let me be the first to say it: This team might have what it takes to win it all.

    1. Someone for Marco to get the ball to, e.g. Earnie.

    2. Someone who can replace MAE when he is dinged up, like Hristo or Earnie.

    3. Someone to anchor what looks to be an excellent back four, i.e., Ivanov. Nelsen and Reyes are already solid. The only question mark is left back.

    4. Benji back in form. If he's ready for the Nats, he's ready for DCU.

Somebody pinch me. For the first time in three years, I feel the thrill of anticipation of great things and not empty hopes that maybe we will be better with the same side that disappointed me the year before.

Definitely one the most exciting and longest post seasons ever

Whoa horsey! We've still got major question marks about dmid and some concern over scoring goals. Keep the enthusiasm, but temper the rabid expectations for a happier season (the voice of experience).

We should do well this season. I'm pretty excited about the players we've picked up in the off-season. I'm still going to miss Eddie and Jaime a lot though.

I'm with you Doc. Pre-participation PE is great. Let's get it on!

Mike, you probably wouldn`t be too excited if we hadn`t got rid of the under-producing,vastly over-paid,Moreno and Pope...that was the only way to rebuild this team.Jaime and Eddie needed a new challange in my opinion...getting and looking very stale apart from Eddies WC of course.I`ll miss them both too I really will, but lets not kid ourselves. This club needed to be shaken up...big time, just wish Marco had been the one to go before Jaimie but jeeeez was Moreno useless last year!

I agree. The off-season trades and draft were certainly successful, but they didn't do much to fill our two biggest (consensus) needs: a d-mid and a pure striker. I don't think Stewart is the type of player most have in mind when you're talking about a prolific goal scorer; so, unless Esky is successful in year one, we don't have that 'spearhead' that Ray was talking about.

Instead, I humbly submit, we have a lot of talented players among whom the burden of scoring will need to be shared. But that can be a great advantage: no defense can concentrate on any one or two of our offensive players.
