    Look

I copied this from the Wilson website, how come I have not heard of this? Is this old news?

WILSON SPORTING GOODS CO. NAMED OFFICIAL LICENSEE OF MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER

Wilson to market MLS-branded equipment through 2006, solidifying its position as a serious contender in the world’s largest team sport

CHICAGO IL—November 2003—Effective January 1, 2004, Wilson Sporting Goods Co. will become an Official Licensee of Major League Soccer. Under the agreement between Wilson and MLS, Wilson will produce and market MLS-branded soccer balls, shin guards, equipment bags and youth soccer kits. The MLS-branded balls will be available in a variety of styles incorporating the MLS logos. In addition, team balls will be produced in full and mini-size for each of the MLS teams. MLS decided to partner with Wilson for its strong presence in the soccer industry, advanced soccer equipment, solid retail distribution and strength of the Wilson brand in the eyes of the fans.

It just means Wilson is paying MLS for the right to sell merchandise with MLS logos on them.

Good for MLS. It is a new MLS ball. It is not the ball that you're likely to ever see an MLS player kick. The official PUMA match balls retail for around $130. This $14.99 ball has "tailgate kickaround" written all over it.

I didn't know Valderrama was stranded on a desert island.

That's not Valderamma. Those new San Jose offices sure look nice, though, don't they?

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp They sure do, with enough room for two Alan I. Rothenberg trophies.

Wow, from that photo it looks sorta of ugly.

Maybe it's just a bad photo.

I think we would have seen something on MLSnet.com if they were to change the ball. I remember an announcement from them last year when the Puma ball was revealed.

    Have you read the thread?

It's an "MLS ball" in that it has officially licensed MLS logos on it. at $14.99, I'm pretty sure it's not about to replace PUMA as the match ball supplier.
