Seriously, it seems things have been obscenely quiet in terms of concrete issues to discuss (the destruction of BigSoccer threads notwithstanding). I can't seem to find Grimandi's little web site anymore... I don't suppose there's anything new mentioned about him and the Rapids? For that matter, any word on Valderrama not coming back? Rapids holiday cards were sent out with the Inter Milan-like jerseys. There was a hint of green in them. I wonder, why hasn't there been any sort of "unveiling" like we've seen from other teams? Can someone please confirm that they've run into Spenny doing some Christmas shopping somewhere, and that he's staying in Colorado for next season?
Funny you should start this topic. On the latest Soccer America MLS Confidential email they say that Carlos has renegotiated to $150,000 next season and the Rapids are trying to trade him. But that he can also leave to play in another league if can get a better offer. Also mentioned was that the Rapids are really pursuing Grimandi and an offer may be on the table.
statue Has anyone seen a picture of the statue (40 feet high, isn't it?) that they erected for him in Columbia? Anyone have a link to it?
Fuegofan they used to have it up on the Colorado Rapids website, but no longer. Couldn't find it from a general search either. Can everyone else hear the crickets chirpping loudly?
