Please tell me there is. Someone must have thought to build one amidst all the hoopla. I looked for it the last time I was there and couldn't find it. But I didn't ask anyone.
There is a trophy case in the Stadium Club, with MLS Cup, Open Cup and Supporters' Shield. Plus a bunch of LA Kings / Wayne Gretzky memorabilia, and some Olympic torches. For a while we had custody of the original Dewar's Trophy, but I think that has moved on since the last time I was up there.
I guess what bothers me more than that it’s in the Stadium Club is the fact that for some reason, I’m not surprised it’s in the Stadium Club.
Well said. While I'm glad there is indeed a trophy case, its location disappoints me. I'd love to go and gaze at these trophies, and I think it would be a treat for many people to look at them and also a good way for "the general public" to learn about the Supporters Shield, the CCC, etc. I guess I'll have to get into the Stadium Club one day one way or the other.
I know that the stadium club is open at times other than games. Cant a person just walk in for lunch during the week? I would do that sometime to check out our hardware.
Except that I live in San Diego and it ain't THAT important to me. In the end, I'm just glad they have a trophy case, though I do wish the general public could admire it.
I got to see them recently. They actually opened the stadium club to the peons last week to watch the open cup game. All the nachos you wanted but with $7 drinks. It was nice and hope they do it again. At least now we know what the views like from "above."
