https://matchcenter.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2019-08-03-houston-dynamo-vs-chicago-fire/lineup How is it that he can't get ALL of our better players into the starting 11, this time it's Frankowski on the bench. I see us down 1-0 or 2-0, needing an offensive spark Pauno is going to bring on Frankowski, but our dunbass coach takes out Katai instead for creative Bronico. Then Milhailovic is next to be subbed in , but our dumbass coach takes out Gaitan. Then to preserver our 2-0 or 3-0 loss, he'll sub in Lillard for Niko.
"creative" Brandt Bronico is in the starting line up, starting in midfield in place of Frankowski! Agree with the rest of this post.
They are showing the Fire v. Atlanta game on ESPN+, as there is a "weather delay" in Houston. I thought the weather in Houston was always crappy in Houston.
Kick off imminent! Chicago Fire-sized crowd tonight. I suppose I have some laundry to fold, prior to going out to the bar. "They (Fire) face a struggling Houston side, one win in the past five."-Danhole Kelly Um, Danhole, the Fire have one win in their last 14. Time to turn the sound off now and find some music to play.
Is there a game today, you ask? That's TBD. But there are 11 guys from Chicago in Houston today kicking a ball around.
Watching the Red Star play, could do that because they are in NBC Sports Chicago. Looks like the decease on the field has increased. Red Star 2-0 in the 86th minute
Pretty great to see DeMarcus out there one last time - was always a fan of his with the Fire, USMNT, and he briefly gave me a reason to follow LigaMX again.
Edit: I agree with the post immediately above. Well said, @harrylee773 (other than the LigaMX comment). Danhole Kelly reading from DeMarcus Beasley's wikipedia page, about his "winning two US Open Cups and a Supporter's Shield..." while with the Fire. He read it from Wikipedia as he has no actual knowledge about the Fire and our history.
Not many in attendance in Houston at that beautiful downtown soccer specific stadium. I bet it's because of their name. They should rebrand the Houston Dynamo Maybe people would show up if it was a more Euro sounding name like Houston 1836. That would solve everything, am I right?
Good god Frank(ie) Klopas is a lousy analyst. He is a Chicago soccer legend. He clearly knows the game. He was a decent coach for the Fire. But he is a terrible, awful, boring analyst. He makes my ears heart at time. Dan Kelly and Frank Klopas are dreadful.
Honestly, both of Houston's names suck(ed) and while I get the sarcastic hyperbole in saying a name change would 'solve everything', a bland, uninspiring, and/or confusing name certainly doesn't help matters for any team. As for the downtown stadium, Houston is nothing like Chicago (thank ********), location/access to transit isn't quite as important there, because our city is better than theirs.
