Is that Phil Anschutz on the cover of Soccer America?

Got the latest Soccer America in the mail today and it has a group picture of the Galaxy after MLS Cup holding up the trophy. Front in center of the photo surrounded by all the smiling players is a middle-aged white dude and some woman I'm assuming is his wife.

The guy is not Sigi or Doug Hamilton so I want to think it's the mysterious, mercurial and notoriously media-shy Phil Anschutz whose smiling face is on the cover of SA.

Anyone see this photo who can confirm whether this is, in fact, a rare photo of St. Phil?

Haven't seen the cover. If you're wondering what Uncle Phil looks like, he's the guy on the left:

I got the mag the other day too. He doesn't look too worried about Congressional investigations or anything, I'm happy to say.

Nice to see him "partay" with the boys a little. I'm hoping he gets at least some satisfaction out of all he's done for the league.

We should give "Saint Phil" his own holiday.

Wow, they got a pic, still I doubt they will get an interview.

MLS has so far never had the situation where the two teams in MLS Cup are owned by the same owner. If that should happen, would the owner still celebrate?

Good question, but I think Phil considers LA his team.
