Review: Is Pulido's headbut in the same league as THE headbut?

    So, first, Zidane:

    And then, Pulido:
    (It opens the video)

I actually see a lot of similarities in these two. Both look entirely intentional, both are delivered with force. Both are easily seen by a ref and both were moments of complete idiocy. Obviously, Zidane's meant more, Leagues Cup is not the World Cup. But both destroyed the hopes of their teams.
    Any thoughts?

I don't think we had much in the way of hope left at that point, even up 2-0.

    ????

My recollection is that there was alot of controversy on the red given to Zidane; there was a theory that none of the refs saw it live because it was so far away from the ball, that the red was given because the ref saw a replay on the in stadium video screens.

It was dead in the middle of the field, and not in a crowd. I thought the 4th official said he saw it.

And yet without surrendering a PK in the 95th minute we win 3-2. That was when I thought we were toast. As good as Tim Melia has been at stopping penalties, Pulskamp seems to be the opposite. I have zero faith that he'll stop a penalty. You can only hope for a miss.

I think the biggest similarity is that both are a gross over reaction. With Zidane, Materazzi said he was offered his shirt (post match) and said "no, I prefer your sister". With Pulido, the shove was pretty minor. Both major WTF moments and deserved red cards.

Zidane's was worse and Italians around the world are forever grateful.

I agree, one was a nail in our chances of advancing in a weird new tourney and the other was a world cup final. But there was a violent sharp quality to both headbuts that made me think of the one when I saw the other.
Both really seemed to be decisions.

He got an extra game suspension for the head butt, but it's only served in the Leagues Cup so he misses Monday and a knockout round game this year or 1 game next year whether it's with KC or Chivas.

And SKC is appealing the extra suspension.
