why is cruz azul so good today?

today they make lapuente look silly, is america cuate B's dependent?

golazos de palencia, why is he so motivated now and not so last month? Is ojitos a great club coach?

I have to say club coach, since some of you heate him so much at the national level.....

they hurt the coapa team so much today, that not even repechaje is on sight now for the coca cola team!

I would say Meza found a suitable style of play that let the players adjust quickly and pick up where they left off..

Good Question Efer. I feel that Club America played better without Temoc, heh they weven won a Liguilla ?!?!

Me thinks "el Gatillero" wants one last run with the national team since he was robbed out of Japorea. I hope he gets another shot even though in the past i have been very critical of him...

Meza has been a good Coach no doubt except he never knew how to handle the "Stars" in the Mexican National team and was afraid of droping them..

Their next match is against Lowly Tecos, a win can leave them at 29 pts !!! However their last match will be against Tigres, things can get Complicated for Lapuente which seems to be on his way out of Coapa..

Cruz Azul was at rock bottom. There was no other place to go but up. So any wins would make it look like winning the championship.

Good Question Efer. I feel that Club America played better without Temoc, heh they weven won a Liguilla ?!?!

And how would you know? Dont you always tell me you dont watch Club America? So how owuld you come up with that conclusion?

Meza has been a good Coach no doubt except he never knew how to handle the "Stars" in the Mexican National team and was afraid of droping them..

Stars? What Stars? He brought in his friends. players he coached at Cruz Azul, Toluca, Neza. Vicotr Ruiz, Omar Blanco, Jose Manuel Abundis, David Rangel, Chima Ruiz. Granted, some of these players did not debut with him.. but never were serious players on the national team. It was because he was afarid to drop his friends.. not the real stars.

THe problem with coaches like Meza, Carrillo to name a few... is that they care more about friendships than getting the job done. making friends is fine, but getting the job done and earning respect not just by your friends but by your foes i think is more gratifying. And at the end of the day.. how many true friends does anybody really have? anybody who says they have a bunch either lying or just dont know. I only need 2 fingers to count how many true friends i have aside from my immediate family.

One interview i thought was classic was the one Victor Ruiz gave after that loss to Honduras. They asked him about the loss and Ojitos meza leaving them team... his response was he felt bad and that he knew that his time on the national team was over. bunch of losers if you ask me

Their next match is against Lowly Tecos, a win can leave them at 29 pts !!! However their last match will be against Tigres, things can get Complicated for Lapuente which seems to be on his way out of Coapa..

    you seem really informed

Not only was Cruz Azul at Rock bottom but they were not playinmg good, not even when Trejo was around. However from going on a ten game winless streak and a piss poor Copa Libertadiores performance to Fighting for a Spot in the Liguilla and advancing to the second round of CL is quite a turn around..

And how would you know? Dont you always tell me you dont watch Club America? So how owuld you come up with that conclusion?

I pointed it out, America won the liguilla without Temoc.. The only time i felt America played good with Blanco was when Carrillo had the team. Also i see the highlights of the MFL and read several news sources i dont watch every CA game but i did see their last game against Cruz Azul.

Stars? What Stars? He brought in his friends. players he coached at Cruz Azul, Toluca, Neza.

Luis Hernadez, Pavel Pardo and Dulio Davino they are stars in the National team that where for some reason causing problems. Meza brought in his boys to try and balance things out in the National team but as we saw it only made things worse. Heh no wonder Aguirre came in and dumped just about everyone.

THe problem with coaches like Meza, Carrillo to name a few... is that they care more about friendships than getting the job done.

I dont think Carrilllo should be compared to Meza. Carrillo is a fairly new coach and has yet to win anything while Meza left behind two great teams in Neza and Toluca.

making friends is fine, but getting the job done and earning respect not just by your friends but by your foes i think is more gratifying.

Meza is getting the job done at Cruz Azul and i think Lapuente would agree..

Ahh lets not kid ourselves for some odd reason i must look at the Table/Calender to see how many points each team has and check up on upcomming match ups.. Weird huh...

Motivation and confidence are the biggest factors.

With Carrillo it seemed the team was so pressed for points that every time they had a lead they would try to defend that to the end and it cost them. If you look at Cruz Azul's stats, they've only lost 4 games. It's all those ties that had them with few points. Carrillo didn't strike me as a guy who would instill confidence in his players. He seemed to have a defeatist attitude. I think with Meza the players now concentrate on having a good game which has in turn brought them good results which has in turn brought them confidence.

the fact that palencia is the only leader helps!

I just read comments from loco abreu en elHeraldo.com
he says that they saw paco and Loco like the ones to lead, but no real problems were there, nevertheless the press used that to divide the team and GM believed it! He spoke great of mario carrillo, and had no comments for trejos.

I just think that paco esta mas suleto y sin presiones, jugando a su propio ritmo y de Lider Unico.

    no need to be premature.

huh?? helloo.. its the liguilla... im not following it because of cruz azul or chivas.. its because its the mexican league playoffs

gracias a los cambios y tacticas de Ojitos, al que todos uds le calleron hace 2 años! el futbol tiene muchas revanchas, eso es lo bueno de este juego.

just wait. Now that everything appears to be normal.. billy will want to call the shots and Meza will want to bring in his friends and eventually both will bump heads.

mark my word... just pick one...Chima Ruiz, Victor Ruiz, Omar Blanco, Jose Manuel Abundis, Alberto Macias will sport the Cruz Azul jersey soon. One of his friends will be with him again. Thats a given... and has always happened in his career

He had to use the youth players out of necesity, not because of the good. He will forget about them.
