Hey guys, just another question from a newbie. I was thinking about paying for the internet feed for games on mlsnet this season. I was wondering how many FC Dallas games I would actually be able to get during the season since I can only attend a few this year. I know I probably can't get an exact number since I havent even seen a season schedule yet. Just curious how it was the last few years if anybody knows. Thanks

I would say about 75%. It's really worth having considering you can watch all the other MLS games too, which is really handy towards the end of the season. It was $20 last year, and if you're going to watch 15-20 FCD games thats just $1 a game, so it's really pretty worth it if you ask me. Being in London until June I'm definately going to get it.

Yea, I watched the last game of the season against that team from colorado that wants to be from london :). That was my only experience with it, and actually the only FCD game I have ever seen. (I hope I am not bad luck) Being that I am not in the dallas area I wont be able to watch the local broadcast so it might be my best bet.

BTW, who is playing football on that field, I noticed the faded grid lines during the game last year, I thought it was a SSS.

High school football, they helped pay for the stadium, so we let them use it. It's a discussion for another thread :)

But seriously, I think mls.tv is totally worth the $20 I paid last year, especially if you're like me and like watching other teams play. I probably watched 30-40 games on it last year so I was paying less than $1 a game.

I had it, and it was incredibly worth it. reliable and can be watched whenever you feel like it. if you're not going to be watching live, you have to get good at avoiding the scores as you navigate to the page, but after the second week you'll probably figure out a way. I lived in Texas last year, so I was going to the FCD games, but I enjoy watching as many good games from the rest of the league as I can. I'll get again it this year, as I'm in Japan.

That's the truth, but I will guarante you that if EPL had the same thing it wouldn't only be $20!

It is for me. But I travel all the time, so it's the main way I get to watch FCD games.

Now that you mention it, I do remember I couldn't watch it full screen last year because of that, didn't bother that much though, better than not watching it.

OK, the schedule is out. Now the question remains...is MLSnet going to offer live webcasts again? I wasn't a soccer fan at this time last year so I dont know how they operate or how early they advertise the season package. Has anybody heard anything about if it will be available this year?

they had really, really, really better. my sanity depends on it.

last year I think it was pretty much announced right before the season started. they had offered it the previous season for free, so they weren't out to advertise that now it costed money.

Will "Direct Kick" be coming back this season?

At $69, it's a much better buy than the webcast is for $20.

My main concern is if they will show the games on ESPN 2 on the webcast also. I'm a broke college student with no cable, i'll have to fight for a tv in the student union otherwise :(
(or splice into my neighbors cable line) :D

No, unfortunately I don't remember them showing the ESPN2 games on the web. I think everything that was on national TV (ESPN/ESPN2/ABC) and also the HDNet games were not available on the MLSNet service.

still, a very good value in my opinion.

What remains to be seen is if the games on Telefutura will be exclusive, which, IMO would be stupid as there would be no English language broadcast. Last year, none of the national broadcasts were available on mlslive.tv, so I would assume any games that are exclusively on either Telefutura, ESPN2, ABC or HDNet will not be shown live on mlslive.tv

And I respond: That Blows! But I understand why they would do it.

They were not available on the MLS video service, but they were available via the audio service.

(Which is probably what you meant anyway....just wanted to point it out, though.)

Which is probably how most people feel.

I, on the other hand, love listening to a game on the radio. Of course, I'm often at work on the weekends, and so audio-only works great for those situations.

I listen to a little bit of EPL on Sirius Radio before World Soccer Daily comes on everyday. Being pretty new to the game, I just can't visualize what's happening very well.

I listen to the same thing. Sirius is fantastic for soccer fans.

Keep watching/listening....it'll come naturally before you know it.
