That my friend and I have already decided that we're playing hooky the day ModernWarefare2 comes out so we can stay home and play all day? I mean, we're mid-30s (me) and early 40s (him). But, ooooooh does it feel right! Anybody else do this for games? I'm a first-timer.
I've done it before (Fallout 3 and GTAIV), and I'll do it again (MW2, for sure). Not coincidentally, those are pretty much the only games I've ever preordered (I did a midnight pickup of GTAIV and played until 4AM).
I will definitely be taking off that day, and I'll be in line at midnight to pick it up. I'll be 34 in a couple weeks so don't worry about it. My wife makes fun of me for it. I did it for GTA IV and for Gears of War 2. I remember getting home at 12:20am when I picked up GTA IV and I played online until 4am, with people from here too. I know NORML was part of the group and I think Foos might have joined us for a bit too.
I took a week of work when TBC and WotLK came out to level up which I think might have been a bit extreme, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I was also terribly ill when Halo 3 and GTA 4 came out
I'm 32 now and did it for GTAIV as well, much like the rest of you. I was able to hold off on getting Fallout 3 for quite some time, which is a good thing cuz that's addictive as hell. It seems easier to play GTA for a little while then stop, as opposed to Fallout, where everything takes a bit longer. Thankfully I'm almost done with the game.
Well best case scenario that'll be October for the PS3, so i have some time to go thru rehab before I get back on the wagon.
I've taken off for Halo 3, GTA IV, Gears of War 2.... I'm 27, but I am a school teacher so I am clearly setting the best example for my impressionable adolescents.
I'm 32 and also a teacher... i had a countdown for Halo 3 on the board last year... then lamented to the class about how crappy it was... and yes, i am planning on playing on being sick for MW2... most kids will know that about me since i have the second highest gamerscore in the school (one kid made it his goal to catch up to me to last year and accomplished it at the beginning of may, that bastard)
Is it wrong you blow off work to play games? No Ringo. Braver thing though would be to hook up ModernWarefare2 in office during work! I too went hooky the day Apple released unibody Macbooks; cost me day at work and $1500!
