Is it too early to start dreaming of taking home four pieces of silver from this year's campaignes? I mean we are in the simi-finals or worthington cup, 4th round FA, only a few points of Arsenal and well placed in the CL. Any thoughts?
It might be a bit early. Hopefully a good result in the second semi-final match and we're in the Worthington Cup final. This could springboard us bit in the league, much like with what happened in '99. It's possible, but I wouldn't get myself too excited just yet...
Re: Re: is it to early to talk about possible 4 cups this year? Didn't we lose our first Worthington Cup match in '99? It's too early to talk about winning any cups at this stage. United are contenders in everything, but probably only favourites for the Worthington at this point.
Re: Re: Re: is it to early to talk about possible 4 cups this year? I meant more that playing football every few days suited us in '99. It kept our team sharp and we got used to winning. It would be nice to see some of that this year.
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=254852&cc=5901 Silvestre seems to think United are in line to win everything this season.
That's precisely the attitude the lads should have right now. However, supporters crowing about it is a bit early.
United is growing, and the results keep coming. Though they do not have the same air of invincibility about them that the team of 99 had. We just need Arsenal to slip a little, and United to keep rolling on. Some form of silverware is in the offing for this season, definately. What exactly, I dont know. I only hope if they make it to the Worthington Cup final, they win. I know at the moment it looks like it might be Sheffield United, but if it is, they cannot be underestimated. I really hope Man U win, otherwise I'll never hear the end of it from me dad...
4 trophies is a possibility. If we can beat Blackburn at Ewood then we should get the Worthington (beating pool on the way), FA cup is always a possibility and we'll be among the favorites, Premiership again is a possibility, but we need a lot more consistancy, and our next 2 fixtures are possible stumbling blocks (Chelsea and Southampton). To get a treble i think we need another defender and striker, because a long term injury to any of our defenders, or RvN/Solskjaer could put a major dent in our plans. Champions league is a possibility, we've done well (except haifa), Veron and RvN are always in top form when playing, and we've made a good start to our second group, so thats possible. Overall i'm confident we'll win one or two things at least
We're definetly capable of it. Taking it one step at a time will be the best method. We will at least win 2 of those 4 IMO. here's a question, if we do win 4 or just the Premireship, will Sir Alex retire?
It's a fake. David May is clearly not in the front of that picture. And Posh would have a fit, with Keano blocking Becks' face in the Championship photo.
