Is it acceptable to have an upside down flag as an avatar?

Well if you are going to talk the talk then do the walk. So I would indeed like to see you post in the USMNT forum with an upside down American flag since you are so ok with upside down flags. There is no reason Toon can't post in other forums than the USMNT forum. I think his avatar will get a strong reaction regardless of which forum he posts in.

For your info another poster made a post asking HighburyForever to change his avatar in a thread in the MLS forum and the moderators wrongly removed it probably before he saw it. Yes in retrospect it may have been better to PM HighburyForever directly in the first place. Yet in the end HighburyForever stated he didn't intend to offend anyone with the avatar and removed it and showed a lot more class than several other posters in this thread.

I must strongly disagree - everyone know this is the most beautiful territory flag (see also: my profile picture):

If you read one of my previous posts in this thread you would have realised that the reason I haven't posted in any US fourms yet is because there is no thread currently there that I can post in without resorting to some blatant trolling which will obviously get me some negative attention and therefore not really prove anything.

I want to be able to post something that contributes to the discussion in a thread and see if my avatar is questioned.

    Done and Done.

I'm "okay" with political protest, satire, and humor.

I don't have to "agree" with something to be "okay" with it.

I don't "agree" with flag burning. But I will defend the right of others to engage in such behavior.

Hang your flag however you want, but if you have something against cake, well, those would be words of disagreement!

FWIW, during the DC game versus Olimpia this year, the kids on the field held the Honduras flag upside down the whole time they did the anthems. The difference was noticing all the five point stars pointing down...

    Ooops...

Pretty cool tattoo. I am waiting to see if Dynamo will stick around before I get mine.

    On another topic.
I love those DC license plate that have the slogan: Taxation without Representation.

At least we do not have taxes.

Ah yes, we have a flag version of that as well.

It'll be nice if this is adopted as our new flag.

    Dude,now you're going too far.

Even if Toon hasn't posted anything in the last two days, all his previous posts are shown with the upside down flag so I don't know why you're making a big deal out of it.If there are people sensitive to such a matter, they'll notice it.

On top of that,he's doing is with the flag of his own country.

    Get a grip.

So after Argentina beats us tonight can I put their flag upside down? Would photoshopping a little flame on it be going too far? I wait with bated breath...
