I know there were rumors of him last year becoming Monaco's technical director. I know Monaco fans probably dont want him to replace Dechamps as manager because they dont like his boring style of player. Either way I think Houllier must return to France in some capacity weather its manager, president or techinal director of a club.

I think he needs to get back to his home country where he can speak his native langauge to the local press instead of having to speak English all the time to the English press.

Houllier was an English professor in France before he went to England. i think he enjoys that language.

Yes I think going back to Lens would be perfect for him. I also think managing St. Etienne would be a good move for him or becoming Monaco's techinal director would be nice.

I totally agree...his football style is VERY Un-French. Playing always NOT to lose. I never thought he was a good manager.

yeah but the French style is not really conducive to winning championships. Just look at what happened when Monaco went up against Porto. Houllier's style would be a welcome relief and change. French flair is exciting to watch but when it goes up against a counter attacking European team it gets hammered. The French style could be one of the reasons for France's lack of European club titles.

What about Arsenal and Arsene Wenger? Clearly with a French manager and many French players, Arsenal definately plays at least a hybrid French style of footie, if NOT totally French football.

and how many Champions League finals has Arsenal made ? That was my point I was talking about that style being conducive to winning European titles where you have to play teams from other countries who all play differently. If Arsenal went up against Porto chances are they would have suffered the same fate as Monaco.
