Does anybody really know, I keep getting conflicting stories. MLS game notes list him as the starting left middie but would he really start ahead of Jewsbury and Armstrong, and Walsh?
I agree. I dont' see him ahead of those guys. Besides, wouldn't he be best as the defensive mid sub for Zavagnin? Especially if Zavagnin does any Nats duty? Yeah, everyone needs to be flexible and play some different positions. But I personally would not have him start and get the other midfielders gelling. I guess we will see tonight what Danger Bob thinks.
I don't see him as a starter anywhere, but would probably make him my first choice sub in at least a couple of positions. However, with Armstrong injured & Walsh possibly playing in the middle, he could quite possibly start. Based on last year's form, I start him ahead of Jewsbury, but I haven't seen anything this year. We tried Diego as the starting left mid last year, and it didn't work out. In my opinion, he's not offensive enough to be a left mid. I do like him as a wing back in a 4-4-2 where attacking isn't his primary concern, but he's still got freedom to get forward from time to time.
