Does anyone have a MAthis career compilation on video they can post a link to??

I hardly watched him at club level and would love to see what he was capable of back in da day.

Clavijo brought Cunningham back into the national picture...maybe he can do the same with Cletus. Maybe.

That's correct. One just doesn't return from a four-year slump. Expecting that Mathis will return to form at this point in his career is as hopeless as expecting that Robbie Fowler is just a goal away from another England callup.

I'd add that at least one of those goals vs. Germany was a lucky poach.

No you don't. You will run through an array of emotions/descritptions in this order -

    Wow!
    Yes!
    Hmm.
    Huh?
    What The?
    Frustration
    Then Anger
    Then Depression
    Then Apathy

    Bye Clint.

The charge against Clint has been that he's not fit. Well, I bet he is fit, but just not up to it physically anymore.

If he's fit but not up to it Physically - what would be your defintion of unfit?

If physically, he can't keep the level of fitness to be very competative in MLS, then I would say he's unfit.

REPPED!!! You guys forget too quickly, that was the most important goal of 2002. Lets be serious and show Clint some love. It's not about what he did not do, but what he did do against Korea. Name one other Forward that would have buried that ball with his left. Not one, u cant name one. MathisIsGod

    Once again about Clint Mathis.

Where is one of Mathis feet right now, is it far from the door, at the door or one step inside ? What if he is now doing his own fitness quietly and than send email to BA saying, i want to go to Germany, i think i can and i am as fit as anybody else, will BA approve & call him for European friendlies against Poland & Germany.

What has Mathis done in the last 12 months to even be on BA's radar? It is very reasonable to think that he will never wear another USA jersey except to family picnics.

    Mathis?

Who is Mathis? Is he a new U-18 player on the horizon?

Because, I know your not talkin' 'bout Cletus. He walked the plank in BA's eyes while in Germany.

he's on the outside looking in - he'd have to play extremely well for colorado to even get considered...

a shame too, because at his best Mathis was an unpredictable mercurial midfielder/forward who could really kick the piss out of the ball...

When someone is cornered, no one to turn to, you will always come back to the one who made an impression in the past, someone who made you feel good or happy. When we think about his age, i think he should be in his prime right now, if no one screwed his feeling off course.

He made a terrible impression in the past on numerous ocassions with poor fitness or play, including not playing at a decent level in MLS all year long. He scored what 3 goals all freaking year. He's just not close at all.

Damn Clint. How many more threads are you going to start?

How many different sock puppets do you have?

Well, at least you are showing some computer skills.

Maybe David Spade can hook you up with that finance company he works for.
Just make believe everyone is a coach when they call.
Will be an easy "no" if you picture that.

Then just hit the button and input like you are doing now.

Strawberry Fields? One of your weaker names. You aren't Doing Toad now I hope.
    Have you sunk that low.

I do not agree. None of the new players are better than the 2002 Cleetus. Certainly they are better than the 2006 version. Cleetus is on the outside because his perfomance has degraded, not because there is better competition.

People who call others "sockpuppets" should use their REAL name instead of a stage name. How do we know that you are not a sockpuppet?

Bingo. No one on the current team is as dangerous when facing the goal.

Re: Once again about Clint Mathis.

basically, Clint would have to show up for RSL looking totally fit, and in the first 6 games be all over the field and score 6 goals in 6 games with a few assists.

Then Bruce might give him a look
