i wouldn't think so, probably because Pierce was starting in the place of Kante, and Nicol was looking to put a little bit more of a holding/attacking team on the feild.
Llamosa missed some of training camp due to his hold out, then missed more due to a hamstring injury. I believe his conditioning isn't quite there yet, leading to his early departure.
