He thinks Rio Ferdinand should be suspended before being proven guilty of anything, and wants top leagues to dump teams while pushing for silly tournaments like the Confederations Cup to continue. How does Fifa pick its top man, anyway?
The President is elected by FIFA-members. Every member has one vote. Blatter paid many of the African members, so they voted for him. The election is sooooooooo ridiculous. Blatter is just an arshole. If he goes on the way he does right now he will get in serious trouble, cause those countries with the biggest influence don´t realy like him. For example the german FA wanted to have as low ticket-prices for the WC2006 as possible, something under 30euros, but the FIFA denied that. Now we hope that they will be available for 35euros. Blatter doesn´t care about the Fans and Players, he only cares about money and power. Thats also why he wants legues reduced to 16, so he can invent some new FIFA events where he can make money. I hope the G14 wil sue him as fast as possible, so the FIFA has to pay the players wages during FIFA-tournaments.
Just read a couple articles about this topic this morning. http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,1563,1098555,00.html The Premier League's reaction to Sepp's proposal for 16 team leagues and a cap of 45 domestic matches. Here's an article from the same source about the G14(or so) considering legal challenges to FIFA. The G14(or so) isn't exactly my favorite group, either. Anyway... http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,1563,1099481,00.html
I was wondering the same thing, only instead of "tool', I was thinking bloated windbag. I just started following soccer internationally, and I am surprised by the amount of control Fifa seems to have over everyone. Mostly I'm suprised by how much Blatter seems to blow out his own opinions and his seeming unwillingness to listen to club requests. Is Blatter a bloated windbag, or am I just getting skewed info (mostly read soccernet.com)? Quango
