3 wars in less than 30 years...later, warsaw pact x nato. real bad blood for awhile. relations are more stable, dare i say friendlier, these days....as each nation has a common headache; the former yugoslav republic of macedonia. greece would be a very hard nut to crack for any balkan military, including turkey. hundreds of leopards - including 200 2A6, f-16/mirage, apache helicopters with longbow, exocet, s-300 and patriot batteries... the usa was recently trying to sell abrams tanks to greece at discount prices and also sell some a-10 warthogs...turkey also has many tanks. greece is in a rough neighborhood, it was spending some 6% of GDP on military. trying to make everyone happy, purchasing german, american, french, dutch and russian equipment. the russian purchases always compelled howls from brussels. the former defense minister was recently convicted of taking bribes to purchase german type 214 submarines....and the roundabout goes on and on.
