All hail the gunners, they are playing like last season never even ended, they must be playing about the most eye-pleasing soccer in Europe at the moment, and some of their best players still have to come out of injury...

I wouldnt say United and LFC died like arsenal!

Arsenal got shagged by the juventus B team, United and Arsenal nearly beat the finalists who should have equalised with madrid in the final.

That's good, because he didn't either. He's predicting that they will this season.

The only teams that "don't care" about the CL are the ones incapable of winning it.

I believe this is a valid point but Gunners fans and players alike are paying much more attention to the CL this season. Arsenal seem to be a CL quality team at home with every opportunity to play for the trophy and then we choke on the road. Its a pattern repeated over and over for years.

They MUST win CL to be considered among Europe's elite. Even Wenger realizes that, and has made it a major goal for the team this year.

I have to agree that right now, Arsenal are playing the best footie in England. We'll see if that translates to brilliant Europe form soon enough. I'd say they are looking pretty good going into the competition. Liverpool haven't done the business in the League to really give you the impression that they are ready just yet. Manchester United, while struggling to put goals in the net, have a settled down defense and are creating chances. We'll see if their experience is enough to see them through...

Based purely on quality of football, is the Arsenal side the best team the Premiership has seen ? Keegan's Newcastle were enternaining but tactically naive and the great Man U sides need tend to really on crosses played in to the box. Arsenal at the moment play football on the ground and always try to almost pass the ball into the net.

They are also the fastest counter attacking side I've seen in the Prem. Also notice the way they hardly cross in their games, everything goes straight through the middle.

Right now the boys from London N5 are playing football from another planet.

Finally they've become a team that isn't just as good as the sum of it's parts, it utilizes the collective talent to rise even further above the heads of the competition.

I hesitate to put extra pressure/expectations on the squad by labelling them the "best" team the Premiership has seen but I will say that it was a good point about even the best Manchester United teams relying on good wing play a bit too much while Arsenal rarely score headed goals.

They're all about passing and running rings around the opposition. They'll out think, out run, out muscle and out manouver anyone.

Brilliant? Not quite yet but heading in that general direction. :)

You can bet that it weighs heavily on the players minds and Mr. Wenger's in particular that they have been abject failures in Europe. Sure they made the UEFA Cup final in 2000 but that draw was so easy Spurs would have gotten through and they gave such an embarrasing display in the final it would have been better had they lost heroically in the semi's or something. That game alone probably set them back a good two years in terms of confidence and damage to their collective psyches.

So now they're finally getting back to a point from which they can progress and finally have a real hand in deciding the destiny of the European Cup.

I'm hardly objective about this, but I recognize and appreciate beautiful play when I see it. The thing that I love about wenger-ball is the way the ball is gently and carefully passed around, even into the goal. Sooner or later I just start laughing at how easy they make it look. The unselfishness of the side is shocking. Oh, and another thing, Pires and Giovanni van B. are yet to comeback from injury. Could Arsenal possibly get better?

Arsenal are looking better this year than last year, the do not look like they will get beaten in the premiership at the moment, if they do they will still win the premiership at a canter, europe is another prospect though, but if they carry their belief into the Champions League then hang on to your hats because the are going to set it alight

The real competition begins tomorrow. If they can handle PSV AWAY FROM HOME like they have the other teams so far, I'll believe they're for real.
