FCNY Academy I'm curious...and curious to hear their input about the current team. Has anyone hear played for the youth squads?
From the FCNY website: "We follow an ODP format in which we currently do not compete in any existing league. ..." "F.C. New York Soccer Academy competes in the prestigious nationally renowned "Y" league, a part of the United Soccer Leagues." ----------------------------------------------------- Is FCNY Academy only a tournament/friendly team or are they in the Super Y league? My guess is that, with the announcement of the USL-1 team, the youth system is being revamped, and that the youth teams will go into the Super Y league in 2010. Right now, the Super Y league website has no mention of FCNY as one of the participating clubs, so the above statement from the website is a little misleading. If that's what happens, then FCNY will compete directly with the LIRR, whose youth teams are already in the Super Y league, for youth talent. I vaguely recall the LIRR suing the USL and/or the Brooklyn Knights regarding exclusive rights to the Long Island market.
