To New Orleans that is, for the Burn's game against Club Olympia Deportivo on Saturday October 26th? And any idea who will play?
Does anyone have any more info. on the game, like where it will be and what time? If so I'll be there.
Burn To Face Olimpia Of Honduras In New Orleans:: The Burn will face Club Olimpia Deportivo of Honduras at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26 at the Tulane Soccer Complex in New Orleans. The match is the highlight of a weekend sports extravaganza hosted by the New Orleans Saints that includes autograph sessions and clinics by both teams throughout the weekend as well as a full day of soccer matches on Saturday. Additionally, both the Burn and Olimpia will be introduced on the Superdome field as part of a pre-game ceremony prior to a noon kickoff between the Saints and the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, October 27.
This sure seems like a lot of hoopla for the Saints/New Orleans to be putting forth for an MLS team. Actually introducing the teams to the fans before the game? Anyone want to speculate on whether someone is looking at putting an MLS team in NO? I won't
Lots of speculation about that among us BS Louisianians on the Expansion forum.... If no one is going, does that mean I get to be THE official Dallas Burn forum match reporter guy? Please.............
Wake Up, Burn Forum! I'm excited about my first chance to see the team, live, in person! Who do you think Jeffries will bring? Who will he play? Any "guest players" I should be aware of?
I will being going to practice tomorrow... And will try and find a complete list of anyone going. I am guessing you will see a mix of Burn players and guest players.
A few people from the metroplex are considering making the roadtrip to New Orleans for the game. Contact me off-list if you are interested in going.
game sunday I can't seem to find an address or a map to the stadium, either. Apparently Tulane refers to it as something other than the "Tulane Soccer Complex". I notice they have a women's team, so I assume that's the place, but I can't pinpoint that stadium on a map, either. I AM GOING TO THIS GAME! No lack of map will stop me. Btw, does anyone know exactly what's included with the $45 tickets other than vague references to a seminar...................
Directions I pulled these directions from the neworleans saints website. Directions to the Westfeldt Complex From the East... Take I-10 west to the Claiborne Avenue exit (the only exit on the left, don't get caught in the right lane). Go down Claiborne about three miles and past seven traffic signals. Take a left on Calhoune, then a right on Willow. Ben Weiner Drive is the next immediate right. From the West... Take I-10 East to the Carrollton Avenue exit (the second exit after the I-10/I-610 split). The exit will put you right on Carrolton, so go down about a mile until you reach Claiborne Avenue at a lighted intersection. Go through the intersection and make a u-turn back toward Claiborne and turn right on Claiborne. Go past the traffic light, which will be Broadway, and take a right on Audubon Blvd. (not Audubon Street). Take a left on Willow and go through the stop light. At the next light, turn left onto Ben Wiener Drive. There is no physical street address. http://www.neworleanssaints.com/stories.php?story_id=1228 I just ordered tickets to the game from Nick at 504.731.1879. They were $16 a piece. All seats are GA. He mentioned that they expect to sell out this game, so you may want to go ahead and give him a call (he may have been blowing smoke, but I went ahead and bought some tickets anyway).
Thanks. Tickets purchased, and I'll be there, along with my father and brother. Shame. Doesn't look like I'll get to see most of the offense. Oh well, Go Burn!
ive got a few people coming to the game...we'll be the ones cheering for DC... anything to support MLS, anywhere, at any time.
There is a Burn practice Friday in New Orleans open to public... 5 pm at the soccer field between Zephyrs baseball stadium and the Saints Front office.
