We haven't clinched a playoff spot yet with two games left. NE is hot and we have our final two games against Chicago, a team which we find new and exciting ways to lose to each year. Granted they aren't tearing the league up by any means, but after watching an ill-fated back pass lead to a goal last year at Soldier Field and the boys playing good enough to win the 5-4 game in Naperville earlier this year, well i can't help but feel a little nervous goin into the last two weeks.
yeah, if metros win on thursday, and new england somehow wins or ties at dallas or home vs. metros, we could seriously be hurting. Thursday, September 12th D.C. United at MetroStars Saturday, September 14th San Jose at Los Angeles Chicago at Columbus MetroStars at D.C. United Colorado at Kansas City New England at Dallas Thursday, September 19th Dallas at D.C. United Friday, September 20th Kansas City at Colorado Saturday, September 21st Los Angeles at San Jose MetroStars at New England Sunday, September 22nd Columbus at Chicago
Sure I'm concerned, but if you think positively, Chicago might miss the playoffs completely. That would be cool. Wouldn't that be a great way to end the season? Beat Chicago twice and emliminate them from the playoffs. Cool.
I've been saying since June that Crew would need 4 points out of 6 to win the division in the final two matches. Am I concerned we won't make the playoffs? Not at all. We'll make it. Not to be ominous, but if we don't does our coach get the sack?
List all the bad things about Andrulis and all the good things. If the bad outweigh the good, he's gone or carefully looked at. Why are there more bad than good? Were they his fault? Were they due to injury? Obviously, if you lose three straight games because your best players are injured, that's not really the coach's fault, IMO. We're gonna make the playoffs, the question is what seed do we get?
I have slight concerns about the Crew's prospects, but that's probably what happens after a lifetime of supporting the Bengals, the Reds and UD.
If this is the measurement that Crew Management uses to ascertain how well a coach has done, no wonder this organization is mired in mediocrity.
i am not concerned at all. we may not win the division but NE has Dallas and the Metros. they may get a max of four points from this. they wont beat both. i see the metros actually winning the division. they have DC twice and NE. come on DC absolutlely sux and for the metros not to get at least four points from them would be an embarrassement for them. and get at least a point form NE. and if we get at least 2 points v. S hitcago we are in as well as them. the team that should be worried as to making the playoffs should be KC. they are only 3 pts up of NE and they have a very tough colorado team for a home-and-home.
I'm more worried about us. I think that we have serious Chicago block, and when was the last time we came down with a victory when we really needed it? With the controversy up top, and McBride seeming less and less like a team player, I'm more than a little worried. We need three at home versus Chicago or this season could be a complete disaster; not exactly the position I thought we'd be in after lambasting KC 4 to 1 away. How much does 0-0 at home to NE hurt now? We can't count on DC or Colorado or Dallas to do anything for us. It's just a game of prepare for the worst and hope to be pleasantly surprised. Any idea if the Ohio State game will be early enough in the day to allow traffic to dissipate before Crew v. Fire?
OSU starts at 3:30. Even if V Army gets beneath the trees around 3:30 - 4, they shouldn't have a problem. I'd imagine that most people would want to park near campus and that the park and ride service from the fairgrounds would be minimal traffic.
I'm very concerned...I just got the crabs and there's this rash just below my....oh...you meant MLS? I'm not going to put money on us winning both games against Ch*cago...I didn't make any money last time I did.
now, my eagle radiowebcast went out on me frequently, but the times that i was able to listen, i didn't hear anything positive about mcbride...in fact, i didnt hear anything at all.
How about an assist on Jeff's goal? How about him getting hammered all night by Robinson with the damn ref giving ONE yellow card and then just calling fouls after that? How about a header after a throw-in that went straight at Cannon? Or a header back across the six that Jeff won a corner from? He was involved and he was much more in synch with Jeff in this game. I expect this to continue to improve with the match tomorrow night. And you also have to remember that with both Jeff and McBride in the box, Buddle became the forgotten man and took advantage TWICE!
Did Jeff only win a corner because he had to stretch to get the service? I'm not sure. I guess any service inside the six is good. I wish it was on TV, so that we'd all have a better picture. In general my comments about him not being a team player, should not be taken seriously as anything new or pertaining to this Saturday; I was only reiterating concerns that Elizabeth had about a month ago that he did not want to be partnered with Mr. Cunningham, and that his patience with the league had run out. Since this is a thread about being "concerned" I think the appropriate standard is whether its reasonable to be concerned about these things . I submit that it is. (Again, I'm not saying these things are plainly true.) I agree with your statement about Buddle being freed up, but that could happen in any number of ways, including the added pressure that Garcia was already applying.
