I've been keeping my Elo Rater updated throughout the season and we've been clear worst the whole time. The only other team that is really sticking with us is Atlanta. Even Montreal and DC United keep managing to eke out little victories.

Philadelphia is so high simply because of where they finished last season. 2026 has been abysmal for them, and they've fallen over 100 rating points because of it, but it takes a little bit of time for the ratings to completely react to such radical changes in form. Likewise, San Jose isn't at the very top because they've had a lot of room to make up. They are +163 on the season, which is literally insane.

While it doesn't make us any better, Atlanta's payroll is 3x ours, 2nd highest in MLS. gotta suck to follow a club that obviously does put its money where its mouth is, and is still just terrible. So they do what folks want them to do, they just do it really poorly.

Tata basically said he would be/should be fired, had he not had his extensive history with the club.

Atlanta is the new Toronto. Spend tons of money, generally get poor results. Occasionally get lucky.

And both sides that slid into this after seeming to be doing everything right and winning a Cup, a shield, etc

With Montreal, DCU, and Atlanta all winning yesterday, SKC's bottom-dwelling performance has become much more acute. The cheese stands alone.

Not sure there's anything in there that those on this forum didn't already know though. It's for the rest of the league who are wondering "wtf is going on with KC?"

It's hard to even buy into the hope at the end of that article. If our analytics and scouting were truly that dismal under Vermes, can we really expect that to be in place for a summer transfer window, now only months away? We already know Blorian is on his way, but we'd need another 3-4 big signings to even make a dent in this roster. That doesn't seem possible mid-season, unless KC hosting World Cup teams somehow mainlines truly blockbuster signings this club has never seen before. But we are also fast approaching "who in their right mind would want to play for this club?" territory.

The last several seasons have seemed hopeless but this is next level. What are we even looking forward to at this point?

Wonder if Tom knows that, since 2022, SKC's Western Conf. finish has been 12th, 8th, 13th, 15th, 15th (current year).

SKC has been bad. For a long time. We're just really, really, really bad now and the MLS media are finally taking notice.
