It maybe about fame and attention.
    Look at this.

Cristiano has always been about seeking attention.
I’m just wonder if Coca-Cola is seeking some type of compensation from either Cristiano or UEFA. Likewise Heineken with Pogba. Those sponsors paid big money to have their products placed on tables during press briefings.
But I do how wonder Messi, a Pepsi endorser, would react having Coca-Cola bottles in front of him. Pepsi would likely pay him to bring his own bottle of Pepsi and constantly take a swig from it.

It would probably be a bad PR move if they publicly go after it. Better to find alternative. Honestly Ronaldo has a point (from a publicity point of view) that a coke bottle in front of him, makes it look like he drinks (or endorses) Coke. There is less association with the athlete if their logo is just in the poster behind the player. Coke is in essence getting a free endorsement.

As for Messi and Pepsi ... it already happens in a way. Messi is an Adidas guy and he wears Nike with Barca. But yeah, this is a bit more in your face as I described above.

Remind me of Ronaldinho drank Pepsi while he still worked with Coca.

    Well done to Hungary!
Held out against Portugal for 84 minutes and now pick up a point against the favorites France.
But next they leave home and go to Munich where the Germans will probably hit at least five past them.

In other news, the away goal rule in CL and Europa is not longer a thing. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing and what's prompting the change.

The official line is that it’s now counter productive as it’s making the home teams more cautious as they don’t want to concede an ‘away’ goal ...

Great, more games to be decided by PKs, plus more games going to ET (assuming 30 minutes of extra time pre PK shootout) which seems dangerous so late in the season already crowded with fixtures. Plus of course the group stage will now feature even more games (just what everyone wants!), so the schedule will be more crowded early in the season as well.

Not only will more ties go to extra-time but there will be a bigger advantage to hosting the second leg, which flies in the face of the main reason why we have two-legged ties in the first place (to make it a fair contest).

Apparently the recording was around for years but the guy who had it wanted a ton to release it (or destroy it) and that was finally paid by someone trying to make Perez look worse due to the whole Super League thing, and his refusal to back off against mighty UEFA.

Not content to rip Casillas and Raul (in 2006), now a newer (2012) leaked tape has Florentino ripping into Cristiano Ronalds, Mourinho, and Del Bosque:

MADRID (AP) — A new round of leaked audio recordings published by Spanish media on Wednesday revealed Real Madrid’s president privately criticizing Cristiano Ronaldo and José Mourinho. The newspaper El Confidencial released audios in which Florentino Pérez reportedly called former player Ronaldo an “imbecile” and “sick.” He reportedly said Ronaldo and former coach Mourinho “were not normal.” He also called Mourinho an “imbecile.”

Pérez also reportedly criticized former Madrid and Spain coach Vicente del Bosque, saying he was “not a coach” and “one of the greatest lies” he had seen in his life.
    ...

He said they were likely being published now because of his “involvement as one of the driving forces behind the Super League,” which folded days after being launched following widespread criticism against the competition.

Florentino Perez getting leaked again, from 2012 again, here a touching story of Mourinho educating Ozil, like a father:

"This guy (Ozil) arrived here with a girlfriend, being 21 years old, so..... these third generation turks come and then a match starts and the go brbrbr(inaudible).... and so he comes and well He discovers Madrid man! I mean forget about being turkish, third generation and having a girlfriend, screw all that man! He ********ing dumps her and changes his life. He then falls in love with an italian model from Milan, he then starts taking private flights to Milan to have sex with her and come back I think. Then one day he starts joking around with Mourinho, who happens to be a funny guy... Mou starts calling Ozil a "besugo" (slow and dumb fish) and asks Mesut; "Would you allow me to talk to you straight as if I was you father?" and this poor guy Mezut says "Of course"... and Mou tells him "Look, this girl you're going out with has ********ed all of Inter and all of A.C. Milan as well their coaching staff"..... hahahaha.... Well, he did end up dumping her"..............

Turns out Florentino is a big gossiper . This one with Mourinho talking to Ozil is actually pretty funny . :ROFLMAO:

Honestly all of this is pretty tame so far . Waiting for something substantial but I don’t think it will come .

Varane apparently wants out. Has 1 year left in his contract and doesn't want to renew. Or he wants to make more money and Florentino isn't giving it.
