    Hi Everyone.

I usually lurk on the NE Revolution boards, but I have a question for your august body of posters.

I am a high school teacher who teaches. I am taking a group of students to Ireland in March of next year. I was looking for a fixture in Eircom (sp?) premiere league or Gaelic football or even hurling in Dublin, Kilkenny or Killarney for 25-27 March.

I have had a difficult time finding a site which could guide me to fixture information. Any suggestions you would have would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Like the American season, the Irish football season is played through the summer from April to November, so unfortunately you'll just be too early to get to a League Of Ireland game. The fixtures aren't out yet anyway. As for Gaelic, that also runs through the summer but I'm not 100% sure when exactly it starts so you might be able to get to some Gaelic games.

The natonal team play Israel on the 26th of March, but it's in Tel Aviv, so that's not much good to you.

Your best hope is that one of the Dublin clubs will have a friendly against British opposition. The likes of Glagow Septic, Scumchester United, and Spurs (ha ha ha ha) have all been over in recent years.

Bohs are negotiating pre-season friendlies with Leeds United, Forest and I think, Aston Villa - assuming they won't still be in the FA Cup by March.

Your next best bet is to f u c k off to the UK and give your money to some Premiership outfit. Throwing money at foreign clubs that don't need it is the national hobby in Ireland.

Tickets are normally handy enough to come by for matches in Ireland, but if you do find a fixture you'd like to attend with a group, it might be worth contacting the club in question and seeing if they'll lay on a welcome for you.
