Just wanted to know some basic information about Ireland's league. What is the most popular Irish club team? What is the average attendance for an Irish League game? How many teams are there?

    Thanks

For information on the Eircom League, the name for the league of Ireland, I'd recomend going to these sites...

    http://www.eleven-a-side.com/

    And...

    http://www.soccercentral.ie/

They're Irish sites, not exclusive to the league, in fact the focus is more on the national team, but they provide brilliant coverage all the same.

It's summer football this season, which seems to have improved attendences alot and is generally looking like a good move for the league. Bohemians are the current champions but aren't playing very well this season, but they have the leagues most famous player, Glen Crowe, a striker who's the first Eircom league player to be capped by Ireland in 16 years, he's won 2 caps now and is in our next squad, though there's internationals from other countrys though, none of the 'major' ones.

Not sure on what the average attendences are really, one of the sites may be able to answer your question.

    Just for the record:
The 'Irish League' is the historic name of the league in Nothern Ireland and to distinguish - the league in the Republic is the 'League of Ireland'.
