If Ireland were to play the USA tomorrow, what'd the score be? I'd go for 2-2 (either team could steal it by a goal)... what about yourselves?

    Sockpuppets need not reply

Where are you playing the game? In Ireland or in the United States?

The US hasn't beat a European team at home since, well, ever. Of course we've only recently become good.

3-1 USA easily, Better Keepers , Coach and finishers to the USA, McBride Mathis ,Donovan, MaxMoore, Krivoski. etc etc could all easily start for Ireland at striker.
You don't have the depth we have..you're country is 3.5 mill compared to ours and we don't even give a rats ballsac about football and we're still ranked 10 th and had 3 all atars on the all World Cup team of 11 , you rely more on bullshet offside traps and tactics to mirage you deficencies while the USA are a growing soccer power.
I wonder really how many Irish rioters would have their asses kicked in if they started their rioting routine? in 1994 they tried that bullshak in New Jersey and got their asses beat up by secutrity ..that shak doesn't fly here in the US our cops will beat your pale rioting arses down...

This is easily the stupidest BS post I've read in six months -- that is a hard thing to achieve but this one does it! No need to dignify it any further.

Rioters? You're deeply, deeply mistaken there. Irish fans are internationally recognised as the best in the world (good atmosphere, lively, but no riots)

You're entitled to your opinion, so if you think it'd be 3-1, then I won't argue with that

He's just an idiot, he's been posting that kind of crap on here for a while.

As for the match, hard to call because I've not seen enough of the USA but alot would depend on the fitness of the squad I guess.

Oh wow, the Yanks beat our womens team....too bad the USA is the only nation in the world that gives a crap about women's football.

Secondly, to call Bruce Arena a better coach than Brian Kerr is just flat out Ignorant. Arena never lead a team to third place in the world, or a continental championship.

And last but not least, of course our players are better than Americas. If Americas players were as good as ours, they wouldn't be playing in lowly MLS.

Either Howard or Friedel better than Shay Given.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Segaystian pull your head from your tw@t...Bruse Arena has single handidly turnd the US team into a top 10 world team...Ireland are 15! We took an undermanned team to Landsdowne and had you beat till that stiff Doherty came off the bench and got lucky...
Arena and the US were tremendous at the WC, whipping Portugal..has Ireland ever beeaten the team of Portugal's claiber? NO!
You had 11 v 10 men for nearly 25 mins and could not score V Spain!
As for the MLS, it is greatly improved. frackin Eirie doesn't even have a league! and I don't see any Micks playing abroad..you're just stuck in England...Spain and Ital want no part of Duff or Cunningham or any other Donkey you could name...frackin Keane was run out of Inter...
Again pull you jead out ur ass before speaking....assclown.
And Freidel urinated on Given...Feridel-keeper of the year in England.

    Ireland v US

In the States I'd give the US the edge in a one goal differential game (1-nil or 2-1), but I think in Ireland it's even closer. I'd like to see the match, really.

You had us beat? How? By not scoring? By the way, 2-0 isn't luck... and if Doherty's a stiff, how did he score against ALMIGHTY AMERICA?

Let's see now... we've beaten England (when they were top class), Italy (the only team to beat them in normal play in the 94 world cup) and Holland in 2001, to name but a few... yeah, we've beaten teams of that class

We did score vs. Spain... 1-1 draw at full time (before you say we lost in penalties, they'e about luck, so that's life), ass-clown

We do have a national football league, but it's only semi-pro

We don't play abroad... just in England? Get a globe, and you'll see that Ireland and England are separate countries, and thus, playing in England is playing abroad.

Man United & Liverpool want Duff - are they not top tier European teams (maybe not Pool, but Man U definitely are)

Robbie didn't do well in Inter - look at who he was competing against (Kluivert before he sucked, and Ronaldo)

Friedel was keeper of the year, and I'm not taking him from that... but Given had one of the Premierships worst defences and they finished in the top 3, thanks in large part, to him. But are any Spanish or Italian clubs knocking on the door for old Brad?

Words you couldn't spell correctly: Bruce, handedly, turned, beaten, calibre, Eire, you're... GET A DICTIONARY!

Robbie Keane outsocred them all at the world cup, not to mention the EPL based duo, and in one specific case, Kirovski, he's lucky to get on the bench of a team who's top league scorer was Irish, so you're point is completle b*llocks. Quoteing someone lucky to make the bench of a lower mid table team and an Everton reject (Two, in fact, but McBride wasn't really rejected, just no real effort was made to sign him) smacks of desperation.

Football is, in fact, the 3rd most popular sport in this country, and not too far ahead of rugby, so you're dont give a rats ballsac argument is pretty useless, and speaking of smacking of desperation, quoteing the old Fifa rankings and all star teams are probably two of the most desperate signs.

We don't play the offside you uneducated moron, and even if we did, how exactly would that mirage our deficencies? Growing soccer power? You're at the exact point we were in 1990, Fact, off the back of a quater final finish at a world cup and were unlucky to go out to only one goal to the eventual finalist, make of that what you want.

This is the worst of them all, now I really hope you're not banned by the time you come around to answering this, name one Irish match where the Irish fans have started rioting, or trouble of any kind? Did we win the award of best supporters in the world at the last world cup because we're riot starters? This is the stupidest point of the lot, and that really really says something.

I see you've posted some other shite lets go through that.

Fifa rankings, known the world over for being brutually accurate, sure, aren't Columbia in the top ten or near it!?

In my head our starting line up including Colin Healy, didn't make the world cup squad, Steven Reid, didn't make the squad but got in through injury, Andy O'Brien, didn't see a minute of football at the world cup, Kenny Cunningham, only made a two sub appearences, Ian Harte, wouldn't have played had Carr not been injured and Mcateer, saw 45 minutes of world cup action and possibley more..

And we still won, mind you, since I'm not an idiot, I don't care about friendly results, but you're the one who brought it up, and there's nothing lucky about outplaying a side and winning.

This one made me laugh and just about shows up how ignorant you are, since our world cup qualifying group including Portugal, who we finished level with, and Holland who we finished ahead of, really, I'd love to see USA come out of that one, not to mention Iran in the playoffs, we all know what happend on your last WC match with Iran, and if you want to go through recent history at major tournaments, then beating England and Italy, result wise, p!ss all over beating Portugal.

I'll tell Robbie Keane it was all just a cruel dream so...

Of course not, the MLS features sides that would easily be going for the champions league with crowds reaching 80,000 on average and more TV coverage then the Superbowl. The Eircom League is alot like the MLS, improving but has proved nothing.

Whereas USAs goldenboy, the man you all w*nk over on Bigsoccer, Landon Donnavan, was a roaring success at Beyer? A second rate european nothing team and they didn't give him a minute and quickly farmed him back to the MLS, at least Keane played for Inter and scored a few too, his first manager had him as an ever present, he got sacked and Keane wanted out, but of course, Donnavans record on the bench of the Bayer reserves would really destroy his...

By the way, all except one of our players play abroad, and we've players who are doing things in the EPL you could only dream of, what American EPL player will be playing in the champions league next season?

By the way, Duff turned down a move to Spain on climate issues, there was interest, so obviously they do want a part of him, and Cunningham is better then any American defender on display at the world cup or anywhere in Europe, Jeff Agoos anyone :D

Who won it the year before? Oh yeah, that's right, Shay Given! Where was Friedel that season? Who will be playing champions league football next season? Given had more clean sheets then any other premiership keeper with a worse defence on front of him then Friedels, you yanks love your stats, that one doesn't lie.

From what I remember of the US side, in a competitve match at Lansedown we would easily win (Can't ever happen as there's no competition that would force that tie) and away would be tricky but we've the better team so I'd be confident of getting a result. The US side is good, improving alot, but we've the better team from what I know of you lot.

Just wondering when Wales became a good European side. They were last seen in the WC in 1958. As for the Welsh squad was about their C team . I know the US were understrength as well so the game proves nothing. I would like some of you to give me good odd on the Irish and I would take them . They have more quality players than the US. They have better strikers Duff and Keane cant be matched by the US. Any time these teams meet ther is nothing at stake. Remember the last time Ireland played the US in the US it was a draw on a US goal that was clearly offside. Sure the US played well in WC so did Ireland. The US did not play well against Poland. That is the difference you will never see an Irish team blown out of the water like Poland did to the US.

And that team in the US was, literally, our B side. Not just a figure of speech, literally, all of our high profile players pulled out. Our top scorer? Dominic Foley. Not heard of him? I don't blame you, and he's not been capped since iirc, our mid field contained the likes of Barry Quinn and Stephen McPhail, it was pretty much used to give people their debuts, one of Richard Dunnes first appearences for us happend in that tournament.
