Finished 1-1, after going down and playing *************** in the first half we played better in the second. Andy Reid is without doubt a future international, needs to work on his fitness, but the talent is clearly there. Butler played well too, and looks to be regaining some of his form and fitness that saw him win 2 caps. Thornton played alright, he has some touches of class and is another who should be a future international, so alot of positives to come out of it imo, anyone else watching?
With the U-21 victory against Albania looking to be reversed on appeal, how many games will that be that the U-21s will have gone w/o an official win? As I said before, Givens knows as much about football management as Osama Bin Laden does about lap dancing.
under 21s i can't believe that the FAI, don givens, his assistants, liam miller or any other of the players or journalists or nobody in the whole of ireland knew that liam miller had been booked twice. it's totally unbelievable. especially the player himself jesus are they all brain dead or what.
In fairness, the first booking was in October, I think. Would you remember being booked 9 months ago in a specific game after a season's worth of reserve and youth games? Givens should have known (surely they keep a record of it?) , but I at the end of the day the ultimate responsibility for this ************-up is UEFA's. They didn't notify the FAI of the suspension as they normally do, and should have.
